Ok so I live in Vancouver, keep in mind that it's a small city so we can't people are generally more chill. The nice weather only happens about 3 out of the 12 months a year so if it's raining, kinda cold and gloomy... then congrats! you get to see what Vancouver really is like most of the time! When the sun does decide to show up, the city is beautiful and you will see a deep passion of the Vancouver Canucks!
Basically, if you are nice to people, they will be nice to you. Overall, Vancouver is an easy going friendly city. People are full of life and personality.

@mattdaffre The nightlife in Vancouver is pretty weak; most clubs can't hold more than 50 people comfortably, the drinks are worth a leg and a foot, and having travelled all around the world, I can tell you that the women from Vancouver are very stuck up and have self-image issues. Be prepared to pay $600,000 for a 2 bedroom home in the suburbs while working a $10 an hour job ( if you're even lucky finding one). But other than the stuck up people, lack of jobs, and high costs, Vancity is nice.

ALL Amazing and the People are very warm and freindly. Ramada Hotel in Vancouver was Great but was in Downtown which was a little seedy with a lot of Tramps But was only there for 2 nights.

I recommend Wreck Beach to anyone traveling to Van, it is a clothing optional beach with hospitality and a vibe that you will never forget. I'm not going to try to explain it because until you go there you have no idea. Vancouver is the ultimate city if you're looking for a huge culture shock.

The reason most don't look shiny & Glitzy like in NY or TO is because buildings in Van have to follow a by-law that requirements all new buildings to be multi purpose & livable. im from Mexico, i have been for 2 months now, i think this is a great place to live, the city is beautiful and the people is nice , i dont think there is racism here at all, at least not with mexican people, in mexico we like canadians, altough i cant say the same for americans, i would like that people were a little bit more friendly here, its hard to make friends, there are in fact a lot of asian people but i dont see it like a problem i hate racism...

@mattdaffre The nightlife in Vancouver is pretty weak; most clubs can't hold more than 50 people comfortably, the drinks are worth a leg and a foot, and having travelled all around the world, I can tell you that the women from Vancouver are very stuck up and have self-image issues. Be prepared to pay $600,000 for a 2 bedroom home in the suburbs while working a $10 an hour job ( if you're even lucky finding one). But other than the stuck up people, lack of jobs, and high costs, Vancity is nice.

@mattdaffre believe me i dont know much about the night life but people here in vancouver are very warm and friendly believe me i know i live in vanouver and visit victoria at least 4 times every year its wonderful here there are so many sites to see and if you do visit here visit in summer or winter i dont recommend fall or spring though

British Columbia is so Beautiful.
Visited Vancouver, Victoria,Chamanus,PrinceRupert,Skeena train to Prince George,Smithers ,Jasper,Banff,Kanloop,Kalowna,Merritt,Hope,back to Vanvouver then Rocky Moutaineer to Whistler.
ALL Amazing and the People are very warm and freindly. Ramada Hotel in Vancouver was Great but was in Downtown which was a little seedy with a lot of Tramps But was only there for 2 nights.
All cities have a bad side compared to London, Vancouver was no sweat.

@green1kat - I lived several years in Vancouver and let me tell ya, you are absolutely right. Sadly, Van people don't admit it. Vancouver is a beautiful city to visit when the weather is sunny. However, more than two weeks to one month is just too much. More than one year and you will be basically depressed. Women are really bossy out there. Most of Van men should wear skirts instead of pants. If you have an accent, forget Vancouver to live. Well, unless you're gay...

No videos, words, or pictures can do Vancouver justice. It is the most beautiful city in the world with such a diverse culture. I recommend Wreck Beach to anyone traveling to Van, it is a clothing optional beach with hospitality and a vibe that you will never forget. I'm not going to try to explain it because until you go there you have no idea. Vancouver is the ultimate city if you're looking for a huge culture shock.

We have the highest cost of living in Canada, and our liberals are only liberal in name, they are in fact one of the most conservative provincial parties in Canada. Grey ugly building downtown - FALSE Vancouver actually has many beautiful new buildings. The reason most don't look shiny & Glitzy like in NY or TO is because buildings in Van have to follow a by-law that requirements all new buildings to be multi purpose & livable. That means, shopping, hotel, office units, lower income units & of course regular housing units all under in 1 roof!
This was device to spread the population equally, rich/poor.
