  • Great song and musical but good lord I really don't like this film.

  • If you take all the music, thoughts and and narration from Smitty, it's such an awkward elevator ride.

  • Ya hungry? ........................... Yeah. ;)

  • gross sneeze

  • such a cute song! =)

  • I auditioned for this play two days ago cast list comes up 2marow wish me luck i really want to be rosemary :)

  • Does anyone know where I could get Smitty's green dress and hat and glasses

    ?? thanks

  • I just love this show.

  • aw that was adorable! i just saw the musical yesterday and enjoyed it a lot. want to watch the film now!

  • Haha cute.

  • Smitty's hot!!!

  • Robert Morse is actually so handsomely adorable in this :D

  • Smitty forever -3 she just totally pulled off that entire look

  • Robert morse is adorable

  • I'm just like finch

  • Nothing will compare to this version...classic!

  • I much prefer it as a stage musical- I think it works better with all the dancers and everything

  • Finch invades everyone's personal space EXCEPT Rosemary ... makes you wonder what's actually in that book of his ...

  • Yes!!!

I m here cause of DAN!!!))

  • Thumb up if you're here because of Daniel Radcliffe ;)

  • This movie works much better as a play. It essentially is play on film, very little but static shots of one area after another.

  • Seeing this...i can understand why daniel got the part

  • Just saw Daniel Radcliffe. I LOVED the new version of the musical. He was amazing. This song is sooo cute though either way! :)

  • The best part is when the chorus randomly chimes in at the end.

  • Phenomenal.

  • Slowest. Elevator. Ever.

  • @SquishyMiette It is 30 floors :P

  • i think i like the smitty from my school's production a lot more

  • i think ratcliff did better i saw it yesterday. FINOMINAL!

  • my schools doing this next year! woop woop

  • One of the most useful songs ever! I've lost count of how many times, after a long day, I express myself with this song.

It kind of makes me laugh, though, when Smitty is reading the ad about the vegetable plate. If each plate is $1.90, it would be a total of $3.80 for the two. Instead it's $3.58, so they're only saving $.22, or $.11 each.

  • the one in the middle looks like shes from Bewitched

  • My sister did this for her highschool. She's the brunette's character. I dunno what her name is. But she is definitely better than this girl. My sister has the voice of an opera singer.

  • Smitty. <3.

  • I love being Smitty in this show(: were currently during it

  • Oh this is so cute. Such a great song.

  • Do they have this on ITunes?!

    I hope so :(

  • @KChenowethFan Yes, they do! I bought it and play it all the time. =)

  • cute!!! I love it!

  • I love this song so much!! I adore the movie, and I'm gonna see the show on Broadway in three weeks, I'm SSOO excited!!

  • All I can say is that personally, I'm stoked that Daniel got the part. He's a refreshingly brilliant actor with a big career ahead of him. This is just the beginning, baby!

  • Good GOD. Soooo great! Good luck Daniel, you're gonna need it. Equus was sort of a flop on Broadway. No one went, even though it was on half-price. Not even the full-front nudity was a draw. I would never have casted him. What about Stark Sands from American Idiot and Journey's End. The Broderick revival wasn't very good and got panned by the critics, and Matthew was good in it. I am predicting utter disaster coming up. Of all people, they chose Radcliffe. Someone with ZERO charm and charisma.

  • where can i find the music sheet for this?

  • Nelson Riddle!

  • this is one of the best songs ever written. like, EVER

  • From 2:03 to 2:06...lmao at Smitty...she's creepin so bad haha

  • No that's smitty in the green

  • is the girl in the green miss jones??

  • Comment removed

  • I love this (: I'm going to see the new Broadway version in April. I honestly think Dan Radcliffe was perfect for this part. I can actually picture him playing this part.

  • yeah when i see this movie i definitely think of harry potter. really what are they thinking putting daniel radcliffe in the revival.

  • haha: that depends..... on what?- on where i'm having dinner.

    he is so adorable

  • he is so adorable

  • Makes me think of my freshman year of high school. I wish I could relive it.

  • Good costumes.

  • This just made my day!! Thank you to the wonderful person who posted this. =)

  • @TheMosthatedAccount Huh? o_0

  • My favorite song in the show.

  • My school is doing this musical : ) very funny

  • no actually i ended up being mr. Twimble

  • one of my friends played smitty and i played ovington

  • this movie is super funny.

  • this song is sooo funn

  • @HellloGrace I think that that little quaver in his voice is kinda cool.

  • love this song

  • I love this song so much!

  • This is diff. than the CD, but same Finch. Whutsupwitdat

  • You may have been listening to the soundtrack of the original Broadway stage version, which Morse also starred in. The movie wasn't made till 6 years later.

  • i did this show a while ago and this was always my fav song

  • yea i member when my school put on this show and this was always my favorite song too

  • heh... i was smitty when my school did this play. this was my favorite song to do!

  • he has such a mature voice for his age.

  • its a shame they didn't put the part when bart is singing in the middle and the uncle and that one girl are on the side...i love that part as well!!

  • they do in the movie, its just not in this video.

and its Bud, not Bart. haha nice try though! :)

  • love this song.

    :D

  • I saw this movie for the very first time in 1985-86. My relatives & I visited my grandfather at his apartment one saturday. This movie popped up on tv and we sat around to watch it. When there was still a half hour left to go in the movie, it came time to go out to eat. I wanted to stay and watch the rest of the movie, but I had to go out with the rest of them. So I missed how it ended. 12 years later I buy a used VHS copy of this movie on eBay & FINALLY got to see the movie in its entirety.

  • My friend DINKS couple do not cook dinner as both of them work late (Both were in the drama, she was director)

  • >"Happy To Keep His Dinner Warm". Never was a Broadway show song so politically incorrect today

I didnt notice that, yeah,it might be rare in that point!

  • Yeah, nowadays it'd be, "Happy to Order a Pizza."

  • .....To say nothing of 'Happy to Go to McDonald's', LOL.

  • I love this show. I think it's neat that the woman Rosemary does NOT want a career but wants to be a wife and mother and live in a nice house in the suburbs of New Rochelle. "Happy To Keep His Dinner Warm". Never was a Broadway show song so politically incorrect today, but that's why I LOVE it! :)

  • @daughterrevolution yes, but then it was a show full of irony..if you don't get that and take it literally the humor and irony of the entire satire escapes you completely I'm affraid...it didn't get the pulitzer prize for just being another happy go lucky show...

  • Can't wait to do this show

    I'm Finch

    ")

  • haha, I love Smitty

  • This was the first film Dad took Mum to when they started dating - he didn't know it was a muscial, but Mum fell for him because he loved it! We had it taped off the telly when I was a child, and Mum & I will still sing this song to eachother if the words come up in conversation. Thanks! I have the album, just not the DVD.

  • @UKSundaeGirl72 aw~ thats cool!

  • smitty reminds me of me haha

  • Huh? Robert Morse won a Tony for the stage musical.

  • cool

  • i saw this movie as a child a totally fell for it. so happy to have found it here! thanks for posting.

  • LOVE you.

  • Thanks so much for uploading this :) You wouldn`t by any chance have the "A secretary is not a toy" scene?

  • no idea, but Finch is great, Robert Morse.

  • Anyone know who played Smitty in this clip? She's really strong in this piece. Great stage diction.
