I hope you respond to this Wan because its important to me. 98% of my stress is the true stress you talked about in this. All of my stress comes from the work LOAD that is on top of me at school. What techniques do you suggest then when I have actual/real stress?
The funny thing about Wan Qi Kim is how direct he is — and how much 'sense' he makes of complicated issues in short periods of time. He rawks. I shared this on FB and Twitter so more people can get the wisdom!
After 5 months of trying to overcome Anxiety and trying to understand it, thinking that i would be doomed, This video finally took the fucken brick off my chest.
5 people need to be slapped, and 95 need to be given high-fives. How could you dislike this video? All of this guys' videos are amazing, i'm am benefiting GREATLY from all of this knowledge. All of it is extremely appreciated.
I detect so much ego in this guy. I'm not sure if I'm right, though. Right after he mispronounced "embrace," he put his hand on his chin. It seems as though he is trying to live up to an image he thinks his practice should have provided him. Am I wrong?
Don't stress about it ;) I think he has a comfortable way of communicating. He has a message to tell. I think he just wants to show, that what he tells, really is something to think about. And it is!
live in the moment stop thinking about what task you have set up for yourself and take advantage of the moment the only thing that separates us from a dead person is living in the present time
You are right... and wrong. Stress occurs when you are hindered in the ackomplishment of what you seek in your heart. If you take on many challenges, as you mention, of course, you are at a higher risker to become hindered in what you seek to ackomplish.
@legaata when you are hindered, your train of thought stops. when your train of thought spots, you lose sight of what you were aiming for in the first place. When you lose sight of that, you begin to question yourself. When you question yourself, you question your motives. when you question you rmotives, you question the path you've put your future on
@3lit3gn0m3 Can you define "train of thought" for me, what do you mean by that? And how would you define "motive"? And what do you mean by "question"? Define these terms for me please.
@legaata hindering your train of thought is like dropping a rock in front of a driver that is concentrating on getting somewhere. "i need to turn here" turns into "crap, am i going to get squished too?"
now, say it was on a personal level, and that rock was someone stopping you from going somewhere. say you ignored that where you were going would be difficult, and that person reinforces it into your mind, since your train of thought (which can be determination as well) was stopped. cont
@3lit3gn0m3 It is interesting that the swedish word for anxiety,. "ängslan" or "¨ångest" are very similar to both "anxiety" and "anger" and the original meaning accorgin to the swedish etymological dictionaries is "to squeeze" or to "to press". And I must give you right in your interpretation, because during anxiety as you described it, you are literally squeezed between your inner driving force on one hand, and the force that is hindering you on the other hand.
@legaata you then ask yourself "is it worth all this trouble?" your motive would be whatever is driving you. what seemed like a good reason before, might not seem so special anymore.
say your motive was money. you question your motive, and then question if you want to keep doing this job for the rest of your life.
it isn't always step by step, but when your train of thought stops, it's easy to slip into anxiety. want to know the difference between stress and anxiety?
@3lit3gn0m3 You might be right that anxiety is related to stress. Etymologically "anxious" is related to "anger" and comes from lat. "anguere" which means to choke or cause distress. Also, serbocoratian word for "anxious", "tjeskoba" also means "tightness" or narrowness".
@legaata stress would be if you just wanted to get past that rock/the person standing in front of you regardless, but couldn't. anxiety comes in when you don't know what to do with stress.
i also think you should take things by what you think they mean rather than asking questions that shouldn't even matter. unless you really don't know what those words mean... there should be a google search bar somewhere on your browser.
@3lit3gn0m3 I asked because I believe that many philosophical concepts are built on deeper interpretations of words, and are hard to grasp unless you know the definitions that they are built on. I understand that by "train of thought" you refer to a sequence of thoughts of that follow a natural development towards a certain goal. I can understand what you mean by your analogy and I think it is pretty much the same way I described stress in my previous post although I didn't use your analogy.
Because each of us are at various and different stages of spiritual growth, not everyone can grasp the reality and depth of what the point is here. That does not mean that anyone is smarter or dumber. It just means that we all travel through the school of life at our own pace.
@Airborne80 The point in this particular video is " how to erase 98% of your stress in three minutes" so he explained that the stress you THINK you have, is nothing but Anxiety... voila! so until the actual Stress part comes to bite your ass, you have nothing to worry about :D
easier said than done , if you had a child and i held it up in front of you and blew it head off with a shotgun . The likely hood of you being stress free like a tree the next day would be unlikely . However the key to be stressing free is being selfish and only caring about yourself and accepting that only you matter while everyone else is a worthless peon or something to have sex with.
i dont want to point things out but when i see a snake i see a snake! and people in jazz lounges r big SNAKES. dont belive me look at the eyes !!!! plus nice insight i'll tune in vid. but make one on how to apply thoughts towards succes like maybe a 123 step by step thing?
thanks your write im preparing for the police and its the stress that im facing; i should not care about the end result so much which can inflict anxiety. More stay somewhat stressed to pass the tests THANKS
damn that takes some balls to make these videos out in a coffee shop, i give you props man. your out of your mind which is what alot of us are trying to work at.
I smoke weed and used to get panic attacks every time. I kept on smoking, despite the panic attacks and derealization that accompanied it and both left me.
I learned the lessons you are teaching in this video during that episode in life.
dude, i went through the exact same thing, and am still dealing with it but i feel like im beating it. for me the anxiety is always right after i first toke.. but then after like 3 minutes i calm down and im like "this isnt so bad after all, what was i so worried about," haha..
i think its a testament to the mind, and the doors that marijuana helps to unlock, that, despite things like anxiety, we continue to smoke.
Great food for thought! Thank you so much, this video is very helpful. My week seems so much better now.You did a great job explaining that; some of the best lessons are spoken in few words.
Ya thats true :) strangly people can get stressed even in the middle of a natural paradise, when there is nothing to worry about. Maby we can swap that arround. Maby we could bring that to the next level, we can be nice and relaxed for absolutely no external reason!
Although I have registered I can't get logged on to your website no matter how I try. Even tried re registering but no luck! If I request forgotten password, I get the message That e mail address is already on our database??? Liz
@journik I just cant ever seem to get my mind clear. I am the most stressed man people ever meet. I have studdyed buddha, ZEN, for a while now and still cant turn my brain off. I only eat one meal a day because i know i would die if i didnt. but when I do it makes me really ill because my stomac is always turrning. I dont know what to do doctors just dont listen or care. What would you do.
@SuperALguitar BROWN PAPER BAG TECHNIQUE: When we're stressed and having panic attacks, a very common reaction is to hyperventilate - to breathe IN too much oxygen. This imbalance creates even MORE panic. A very simple (and strange) way to rebalance the oxygen/carbon dioxide within the body is to ....... breathe into a paper bag - just breathe in your own exhaled air for a few breaths (5 - 8) and the frantic messages coming from the mind "I need more air" will quieten right down.
@SuperALguitar Another way to quieten the mind is to put ALL your attention on your breathing - not changing the inhalation/exhalation at all, just observing it. Every time the mind skips to something (it'll try to do this all the time initially) just gently bring attention back to observing the breath. If you can keep your focus on the breath, after a few minutes the frantic thoughts will quieten down - your breath will then further quieten down your heartbeat and ..... peace will descend.
This used to get me depressed and stressed out and now i can take it and just laugh about it but when i see that every body does it,i dont want to know anybody anymore.Even when i was depressed i never put people down intentionally but im surrounded by people who ntentionally try and put everybody else down through sly remarks or sly insults.Hope you can help or raise my level of mind a little more, thank you
Wan my dear friend in santa monica usa i need you help again : ).Ever since i beat my depression and raised my level of mind other people are starting to seriously get on my nerves because everybody seems to be stuck in that low level so it feel like i have to keep taking insults from people for no real reason and i feel like im a target at a firing range.I know the einstein quote and it helps allot but im more disspointed that people drag themselves so low over petty things

@journik Yes,but you get to a point when it really doesnt affect you anymore right? Because you realize the gap between you and the unaware person. Am I correct? That's how I feel. Their opinion stops being relevant
@journik stress comes from the person. people control their reality and how they view it. there is no good or bad, those are just perspectives on life given by person and his/her morals have arisen from their enviorment. and why would you be sorry that overfriend got himself enlightened, it is a good thing and with true enlightenment follows happiness there is no either or it is all what you make it. AND NOT ALL MASTERS LIVE ALONE ON MOUNTAINS IT IS A STEREOTYPE
