Driving the Blue Ridge Parkway

What scenery. I love the way the colors stand out on a rainy autumn day. I remember riding on the Blue Ridge Parkway on the way to summer camp in '66.

I like the near silence, the only sound the rain, engine and tires. So odd there was no other traffic. I had always wanted to hike the Appalachian trail but now that I use a wheelchair I have adjusted my wish to driving the Blue Ridge Parkway. It needs to be done at least twice, once in spring and once in fall. Thanks for sharing.

Yeah, I wish it hadn't been raing but without it, the Blue Ridge would probably be the brown ridge. I would rather have rain than traffic.

how often does it snow in Lynchburg/virginia? We don't get much in the UK - snowed on one day and it has lasted for about 4 days. Thats it for the whole year!
