Had the pleasure of watching two TBMs or TBFs drop slurry on a brushfire near Mentone, California in June or July of 1971 - from about 100 yards away... The were operated by TBM Inc.
@Sublette217 These are retired now as of about 2 years ago? not sure where they all went but some are on display in various places around the Province!
I was to a fire near sussex about 10 years ago and we heard the bird dog coming and our crew had just enough time to make it to the fire break before a TBM dropped a load of red foam about 350 feet from where we were sitting on the fire break. I was only 19 at the time and I'll never forget it. It leveled every tree in it's path.Just the sound of a TBM drives me wild to this day.Great video.

Nice to see an old bird still doing its duty instead of sitting in a museum.

If you search for TBM waterbomber you can watch a couple of videos of them in action at a fire
