Saw them play this in Providence while opening for Paul Westerberg. Tandem distorted 12 string and bass, man. Epic slow burn that blew me away then and now.
Tremendous stuff, thanks for sharing this. Remember this from my teenage years, still sounds as good today - in fact this live version is better - when the chorus and instruments really kick in
I was late, wandering around during the last days of 80's and the new wave with electronic sounds when I found it out Grant Lee Buffalo... It absolutely astounded me, more than grunge music, and made me want for the first time playing simple and real sounds of folk guitar. Everyday, living in the countryside, I used to lay on the middle of the field with my pluging ears, listening to Grant Lee all day long, smoking and drinking beers... Great memories...
One of those exceptional bands that come along from time to time and you have to cherish what they leave behind for us to endlessly enjoy when they have gone.
I dig this band. Grant Lee plays town squire in quite a few 'gilmore girl's' episodes. Plays a great cover of Beach Boys 'be true to your school' and others.
It's so sad that he never gained the widespread fame that he deserved, while infinitely less talented people like Jessica Simpson and the Jonas Brothers had tremendous success.

I'm not defending Jessica Simpson or the Jonas Brothers, but Grant Lee Buffalo suck real bad. I saw them open for REM and again for Smashing Pumpkins during the 90's and it was the worst shit I've ever seen.

Yea, that's why they were given a bunch of publicity, got openings with the Smashing Pumpkins when they were big and REM in the mid 90's and still went nowhere. Yea, 22,000 views. It must be me.
Fuzzy was the last glb album i bought (first one was jubilee) and at first i didn't thought much about it, but this song made me comeback again and again. All his four GLB cds are great and this song makes me happy and sad at the same time
Grant shows us why he's so great, playing that electric acoustic like nothing else I've ever heard. He's at his peak with this song. Listen to that acoustic starting at around 2:46 and 4:41; it's heavenly guitar to me - from an acoustic! Thank you for bringing us this video, since other audio versions of Fuzzy have been disabled.
Saw them tonight at Largo in Los Angeles - with Paul Kimble - And it was AMAZING!

When you're given every chance in the world by the record execs and you still fail, that means you suck.

I still LOVE Grant Lee Phillips.
But I will admit that I miss what Paul Kimble offered to this band. Without Kimble GL Phillips has lost some fire.
And we all need fire.
