My view on this is that removing regulations may very well create jobs...but at the same or lower salary and the rich will get richer. What we need to do is regulate the gap between the salary tiers in a company so that some business guy that does 40/week gets %5k a week while doing 2 bucks worth of work in the week stop happening.

Government regulations created the Federal Reserve and it was the Federal Reserve, through its coercive monopoly of the money supply, that set interest rates too low and created the housing bubble. Government starts a fire with regulation A, and then swears to put it out with regulation B. But what if the Government didn't light regulatory fires to begin with? We need Government Regulations like we need an arsonist in our basement.

If entrepreneurs provided roads rather than the Government, those entrepreneurs would be compelled to ensure their roads were safe (by setting speed limits etc) otherwise they'd be threatened with law suits and risk going broke, (just like providers of any other goods or services). Customers would also have the option of using competing roads. Govt doesn't lose money when people die, they just get bigger

We have had two years of intense government regulation, and it has completely killed the economy and proven that liberal economics of class warfare, and then throwing away the money, does NOT work. The deregulation that took place in that industry was unwise because the federal government took away regulation that prevented banks from taking certain risk with federally insured deposits and continued to insure the deposits. If you believe in Government then you believe that it's right for one group of people to be able to steal from another group of people. But not vice versa-thus proving moral hypocrisy. What about a society where nobody steals from anybody? Wouldn't this be a goal worth striving for? We'd all like a society free from rape, so why do we question pursuing a society free from theft?

My view on this is that removing regulations may very well create jobs...but at the same or lower salary and the rich will get richer. What we need to do is regulate the gap between the salary tiers in a company so that some business guy that does 40/week gets %5k a week while doing 2 bucks worth of work in the week stop happening.

Prediction-the economy continues to creep slowly up, never making a "full recovery" as the economy pre-crash was an illusion to begin with. 2012 the GOP runs a campaign on weak(er) economy compared to mid-term Bush years. GOP wins (as is almost inevitable at this point) & you see a small but significant burp of employment that Fox News etc will tout as "GOP RECOVERY" but is actually the deal the GOP cut with large corps; "we give you billions, you hire a ~10 thousand each to makes us look good"

Cenk, Government Regulations caused the financial crisis. Government regulations created the Federal Reserve and it was the Federal Reserve, through its coercive monopoly of the money supply, that set interest rates too low and created the housing bubble. Government starts a fire with regulation A, and then swears to put it out with regulation B. But what if the Government didn't light regulatory fires to begin with? We need Government Regulations like we need an arsonist in our basement.

@elfornse It was lack of regulations that caused the Great Depression and the Great Recession. Regulations aren't the problem; it's just that slowly, over time, the regulations are chipped away at by lobbyists until they are a ghost of their former selves.

And the Federal Reserve is a regulatory creation of the Government, thus The Great Depression was caused by Government regulations

The Bankers lobbied the government for the Fed and you since you seem to be an expert on this you are aware of this correct. Then it is a lie to say the government caused the great the depression but again the wealthy who always want to make huge profits without risk. So yes the government with the help of banks caused this.

@Shelbzism The problem isn't speed limits, the problem is a Government monopoly of roads. If entrepreneurs provided roads rather than the Government, those entrepreneurs would be compelled to ensure their roads were safe (by setting speed limits etc) otherwise they'd be threatened with law suits and risk going broke, (just like providers of any other goods or services). Customers would also have the option of using competing roads. Govt doesn't lose money when people die, they just get bigger
