I agree, not the best. There's an episode where Adam gives up his powers and throws the sword into a chasm below Grayskull. Then he changes his mind and goes after the sword. He gets caught in a web where the sword is and struggles to reach it before a giant spider eats him. That was the most awesome transformation.
This is not the best transformation. I remember watching this show as a kid and I didn't care how "realistic" this looked. I mean, how can we be worried about how realistic a FANTASY CARTOON can be? Watching the transformation sequence was the best part.
Cringer is hilarious...They don't show the transformation because he would be sitting, I get it, lazy animators, but hey, Cringer has this look of boredom throughout the whole thing...I'd have had him yawn or something lol
every transformation by heman is great, but in my opinion thats not even close to being the best one , i like the ones where adam loses his sword , and gets it back at the end just in the nick of time to turn into heman
Silly Ghostbuster series, my ass!!! What the hell are you talkin about?! It was great! It holds a lot of good memories for me and soooo many fans 'round the world. Plus it was a real hit as well. God knows how much I miss it. Same thing with the He-Man show! I tried to see it as often as I could, as a kid. Great shows like this one filled my soul with such inspriation to me and to all He-man fans out there! When the new He-Man film comes out, I'll support it all the way! It should be something.
It's a shame we didn't get to see him say "I have the power" infront of castle greyskull while still trapped in the vehicle with Teela next to him, but this is still cool.
I LOVE He-man. This series was the best cartoon ever by far. Too bad the US is so lame and puritanical. It would have been so much cooler if the sensors hadnt had their way.
how is this the best? This is not the best. The best is when adam is in the abyss grabbing his sword, man-at-arms and Tela are at the drawbridge and the electricity bolts down into the abyss.
I think the main reason this was done was because Adam was trapped in the Wind Raider and it would have appeared awkward for him to be shown transforming while standing up.
"In today's show we saw what happens when you drink and drive. Adam, Cringer, and Teela were fleeing the cops when they crashed in a strange cave. Then they woke up, and they had no idea where they were! So remember, kids: Don't drink and drive!"
Well, your mind is clearly in the gutter if that's all you see - dont mention the great stories, wonderful music, and brilliantly done animation and character designs - nah, it's all a gay show because the hero runs around in tights. Lighten up.
Filmation sucked for that reason, it's no wonder they went under..
their style of Animation was crap
re-used countless scenes over & over more than any other animation company.
had everyone walk in exactly the same manner.
the Characters would only in straight lines behind each other when in a group.
Thank god they weren't around on the newer series, New Adventures might not have been that good, but the animation was far superior and the 200x series just blew the original away.
Agreed, but 200x lacked the 'heart' of the Filmation series. What Filmation lacked in animation (although I must comment that on occasion, they actually were quite good) they more than made up for in depth and feeling and... did I say, "heart".
ah well...... Filmations for of retro may just be popular now in a generation obsessed with past animation... considering that a lot of cartoons tend to be remmakes of the old...
For your information - Filmation was an incredibly successful company in the late 80's, when L'Oreal purchased them, in order to close them down for tax benefits. They had two television series in development aswell as a feature. As far as their use of a stock system - that was done to keep the work in the US, to give AMERICAN animators work rather than some slave labour camp in korea or japan, as everyone does today.
If you don't like The Real Ghostbuster then you suck. If you are talking about that Abbot and Costello cartoon remake "Ghostbuster" Then yes it sucked ballz and you don't suck.

They just didn't want to animate a new He-Man transformation sequence with him sitting down so they cut to Cringer just sitting there.

How did the Wing Raider get turned around inside that cave? Or, that far into the cave?
I think the BEST transform is the duel transform in 'Secret of the Sword', toward the end.

Pretty cool. I wonder what it would look like if the camera hadn't changed to Battle Cat during the transformation.
DanielBMS 5 years ago
they probably couldn't get away with what it looks like on a kids show so they changed the camera to Cringer lol
Surenity 5 years ago
I disagree-- I think this shortened sequence was done because of animation limitations (probably due to budget).
It's been well documented that these cartoons were expensive to produce because all the animation was done in the U.S.
jaklumen 5 years ago
Filmation ruled for that reason!
