The funniest thing, is that given Avery's wide array of interests outside of hockey, he *should* be a likable guy. But he's not. And after watching this, I realize it's something intangible about him. It's the way he looks, his attitude, I don't know. But something is there that just makes you think "this guy is a weasel."

Fortunately for hockey and all who love it, the real "Killer Dill"'s career was short-lived, he was released by the Rangers as soon as the legitimate NHL players came back from serving in WW2; and no one else ever picked him up.

The funniest thing, is that given Avery's wide array of interests outside of hockey, he *should* be a likable guy. But he's not. And after watching this, I realize it's something intangible about him. It's the way he looks, his attitude, I don't know. But something is there that just makes you think "this guy is a weasel."

To start with I am a Habs fan, and i believe that every hockey fan (except rangers fans) hate Avery because he his a pest on the ice (and makes racist comments towards french players ex: Lapierre)...
I admire him, he does his job exceptionally well, and accepting to be beaten up by a frenchman in this movie only proves that it his a role he plays...his job on the ice is to destabilize the other team, and he does it very well...Avery on the ice is not Avery off the ice, as a person...it's hockey

The Rangers had a chance to trade for Richard in 41, but since he had broken his ankle and scored only 5 goals in the NHL, Rangers GM Lester Patrick refused. I sure wish he didn't, Rangers might have won a cup or two more. Canadiens were just stacked though, they were the Yankees of the NHL.

Fortunately for hockey and all who love it, the real "Killer Dill"'s career was short-lived, he was released by the Rangers as soon as the legitimate NHL players came back from serving in WW2; and no one else ever picked him up.

@Vineon I said practically invented during the Levesque era - or some words to that effect. You heard what you wanted. And I said that the French and English lived together without any problems. The rebellions were not about language, so you would do yourself a favour by not twisting it into that. The rebellions were because certain colonists (both Englsish and French) didn't like the way the government was being ran.

Joel Garreau, un sociologue Américain réputé disait dans son livre des 9 Nations of North America que le Québec était la plus improbable mais la plus indéniable des nations d'Amérique du Nord.
Les Canadians cherchent toujours à se définir et le font très maladroitement. Leur étalage de symboles lors des cérémonies des jeux olympiques et la bande-annonce "I am Canadian" l'ont démontré.

The only people with rights to be educated in french or english in provinces where they are minorities are the groups highlighted by section 23 of the Charter of Rights. Roughly, the english minority in Québec and the french minorities in the rest of Canada.
Under Canadian laws, you don't have rights that allow you to be educated in a language that isnt your first language or that of your parents.

Québec is also the province most accepting of homosexuality. It was the first juridiction larger than a city in the world to condemn discrimination based on sexual orientation in its charter of rights. It took Québec's help for gays to get equal rights for mariage considering all 75 Québec MPs voted in favor a few years ago, tipping the vote.
You can leave aside the racist remarks and try not to sound like one yourself. You certainly did manage to sound like a homophobe in your insults anyway.
