  • Marvellous to hear this again. It was actually issued in September 1933 in the UK, and may well have been recorded in the same year. There was an LP release too. Goossens also recorded it in the 1920s, acoustically, with the Spencer Dyke quartet for the English National Gramophone Society, and I think Andrew Rose may have transferred that to CD for Pristine Audio. If he has, it will be downloadable.

  • This famous old recording did get a CD re-release (which someone might have). Much of Goossens' work can be heard in Beecham's LPO of the 1930s. - John Austin, Australia
