  • the one guy with the big pole and is putting on his gear wrong is not even a firefighter. Hes a Fake. people fell for his BS.

  • I am old school, go get the fire. Don't let it come get you. The vast majority of firefighting anymore is surround and drown. New firefighters have no real comprehension of structural manufacturing and are afraid to put themselves in harms way. The use of CAFS is the way to go, no rekindle after its use.

  • They ever hear of ground ladders?

  • My gosh there are a lot of big residential fires in this part of the midwest........it must make your fire service personel extremly experienced

  • i love to see a good interior attack... im sick of the new way of fighting fire where people watch from the front yard and wait till it gets big enough to put out with the diluge gun...the newer generation is a big bunch of chickens... rit, rehab, 2 in 2 out, whatever other rules they have are for the dogs... whats going to happen if they actually do need to rescue someone, they wont have the experience to do so or the manpower do do it...there arent enough firemen to go around...

  • By the looks of their gear, they must get fires out there. Or at least train enough to know the basics....Did anyone thing to throw any ladders? Lucky no one got hurt, or in a sticky situation.

  • Until I read the comments I wondered what the h*** was going on. One comment now. HP Firefighters, do not even get close to risking your life on a vacant building. No money? Make building owners pay to have fire service. That is the best way to get funds. If they cannot afford taxes or fees they lose building. Only exception would be for imminent loss of human life.

  • Did these guys ever here of ground ladders? Can't see any? Whatever happened to basic sound fundamentals? You can do a better job than this.

  • I've just watched several Highland Park videos. I am saddened by the decay of what was a beautiful community. Some of the homes I saw in their dying days are real beauties. It's sad to me that such a lovely city lost it's soul and the community to keep going. As for HP FFs, it looks to me like they work their butts off. More power to you, HPFD. I wish you had all the resources (ie money) you need. Stay safe!

  • why is there a FF standing in the doorway when smoke is blowing out and he is not wearing nomex or hooked up to an SCBA?

  • They are brave getting into that house. Such a waste of a beautiful house, these fires obviously don't start themselves but the destruction is another nail in the coffin of what looked like a once nice neighbourhood....very sad.

  • good job!! one word LADDERS BE SAFE

  • shake and bake boys i think we got ourselves a barbeque

  • This house looks like it is in the better park of Highland park possibly on Massachusetts ot Rhode Island Avenues. The 1967 riots killed Highland Park and Detroit not the auto industry. It was done by my fellow soul brothers. Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson cannot blame it on the honkies. There are no honkies in Highland Park or Detroit.

  • I remember one day in 2002, I drove thru HP, Ive seen like 5 homes on fire in a same time within HP city limits.

Its ridiculous because I live in chicago north suburb near Highland Park Illinois and its totally opposite than this, HP in IL is just like Farmington Hills.

  • dont bash The FD man!

  • my apoligies. but is there like a arsonist doing this damage to highland park?

  • NO prob these guys risk their lives everyday!

  • Is the basis of this Detroit -HP bad blood the IAFF thing? Maybe the City of HP treats their members well enough that they don't believe they need a union. I can understand Detroit needing the IAFF, huge government bureaucracy that the city is. If the firefighters think they need a unio, they can always organize.

  • wow..hp fire department is that bad?

  • parttime, if you are in fact a DFD firefighter, its ashame that you would come on here and blast HP on fire scene ops. Be a man and keep that crap off a public forum. if they needed help from Detroit, so be it. You have the resources to transmit a 2nd alarm--they dont. Hard to believe you are part of the brotherhood to come on here an knock a neighboring dept with as many financial problems as DFD. I have a few friends in the DFD and you make them look bad bro...

  • Just keep calling us (Detroit) to put out your fires.

  • YOU are making us (Detroit) look bad, We have 3 engines 1 truck and 1 squad on a dwelling as for HP they have a total of 7 guys and thats including the 3 feos, You must run with ladder 19 talking all this shit,If you know anything about HP they are a full time dept. with res. ff's that work harder then you can even imagine,Why don't you join us on the inside you ladder hugger or would it get to hot for you? You must be one of those guys who hides on the fire scene, By the way I worked in HP!!!

  • That comment was toward parttimescabbuffs. And a thank you to liftguardpullhandle for the support.

  • But you really haven't. Step up to your invite..The most fire duty you've probably seen are live burns at your ranch fucko

  • to those making bash comments towards HP...whether u think they're scabs, wannabees, knock their SOPs, or think they're FH is crap...Step up and man up..Leave a name and number and you've just been invited by those from HP. They aren't a 10,000 or 2,000 member dept.. They do with what they do. Those guys obviously know the situation the city puts them in and they do it anyway...Just like any other fireman in this country...Perhaps you shitknockers that critique HP have seen it all...

  • I don't know how professional the HPFD is. I have personally seen their work first hand and have seen that warehouse they have. Ive seen crack houses that were cleaner and more taken care of. Maybe if you guys picked up a towel and some soap and took some pride in your dept. it wouldn't be a joke. Also it's more like a reserve dept. with about 9 or 10 full timers that aren't even IAFF. There's more to being a PROFESSIONAL firefighter than putting out fires.

  • I don't know who you are but your criticism is very unprofessional in my opinion. For one there are some guys that do clean here and take pride in where we are at and do the best that we can with what we are given. Secondly on average each firefighter here works at least 72 hrs per week here. Yes we may not be IAFF but I didn't know that is what determined if you were a professional firefighter. As I said earlier to anyone that thinks they can show us how to do it better come on down and show us

  • What was left of Highland Park got pillaged long ago and there was no money left for a towel and soap, let alone to keep their firehouse up. Can't you see when they finally are able to get the hydrant going, they have no water pressure! They are so very brave to work in HP. These guys are it! They have no one else to back them up except the DFD! I thought you firefighters were 'brothers' and all! You should have their backs.

  • As the "buff" camera man that took the video I must inquire...what job is it that I was supposed to do???? I understand you don't like the Highland Park dept but those guys were very nice to me, and whether you like it or not worked their asses off at that fire.

  • Well eddiemon08... one they are a part time scab department that works out of a warehouse dubbed shacktown for the awful structures that they have errected inside it. Two maybe the buff camera man should have put down the camera and done his job instead of record another horrible fuck up by Highland Park Fire Department.

  • Well "itsintthewallshaha" I guess you haven't fought much fire in your time because I work there and its a full time department with reserves. As far as being in a warehouse it doesn't matter where you are at for a station as long as your crew can preform the job at hand which HPFD does with professionalism and great respect for the citizens. If you think you can show us how to fight fire I invite you down here and instead of writing some pussy ass comment on youtube bring your ass here.

  • hey motherfucker,

what ever suburb dept your on.....insert your fingers in your ass and keep them there bitch. I, along with my brothers worked hard ini that city and seen more fire than you will in a career you excuse for a firebitch. take advise by my brother hillman.......go there and prove your point if u think you're a fuck'in man you polesmokin asshole!

  • There does'nt seem to be many FF's on scene whats up with that??

  • They only run with like 8 guys a shift or something in that range idk maybe someone else is more knowledgable

  • It's Highland Park. They've stopped giving a damn about the area. It's a constant, daily thing. It's to the point where you just let it burn itself out.

  • I disagree the guys of the fire work thier butts off to put these fires out. All of the members of the department care about HP. And if you were ever on one of there scenes you would see that.

  • that's so true, what a shame.

  • Beautiful house, or at least it was...
