Yeah, Metallica sadly has fallen quite a ways. Their first three albums were the best, hard to beat, but now there're a lot of bands better than what they've become.
@un7ucky The thing with Volbeat is they do metal, old school rock and roll, and rockabilly. It's kind of like Elvis or Johnny Cash meets metal. As for metal as a whole, it's just like any other music genre - all of the bands that play that particular style are naturally going to sound similar, but they all different in certain ways. If you took every jazz tune that included a saxophone, you'd naturally find some similar sounds, but there's still room for style differences within the genre.

This is possibly the heaviest most kickass Volbeat song... Shame Danes don't have any other good bands than Mnemic, Mercyful Fate, D:A:D and Aqua LOL jk Volbeat makes up for Aqua
@wl79droak As much as I love Volbeat, Metallica certainly isn't dead. They're just not big in the US anymore. Europe, Latin America, and Australia are still hugely into metal, in a way most Americans aren't today. They even have tour dates set in Europe for 2012. That said, Volbeat is still awesome and I hope they keep rising to the top.
Metallica has always been excellent, but this is Volbeat. Please, dear Metallica fans, you don't have to bring them up so often.
