  • this show would be amazing if it came back and most of those crazy 80s beach movies are public doman now. You'd have to get really good hosts and it would have to be on a new tv network that isn't all pc and lame. So it probably wouldn't happen. Now you could do it online, but again you would need a FUN online network to host it. For instance i could do this, get some cute girls from L.A. by the beach to host it and have it on every weekend. but you need a dedicated web channel to host it.

  • Forget "Characters Welcome" This was the true golden age of the USA Network!

  • AFLAC i HATED GILBERT

  • USA used to be much better, thanks to material such as Up All Night. I sure do miss those days.

  • Yes USA Up All Night was so fun to watch in the 90's. The network said they stop showing it because they wanted to change their image. I don't know why they said that because Up all night was cool especially around Halloween time. The movies were great to watch and I miss the both of the host. They need to bring it back because Fear Friday is not good because they show the same movies all the time.

  • @ctuna84 Yes, and loads of annoying ads too.

  • I just opened The UAN Connection, where fans of Up All Night and the OLD USA Network can talk live! The number is 1 (213) 406-8580 and you enter extension 462-6922. Meet times are every Friday and Saturday night at 9:00 (PDT). Must be 18 or over to call. Join in!

  • @cheapcape ?

  • USA went down the toilet since NBC took over. How I miss Up All Night!

  • @cheapcape showtime bought usa, didn't know they were nbc but now it makes sense. libtards, offended pc dyke types.

  • If anyone has any Up all night shows just PM for money. Thx

  • OMG! USA channel was the shit back in the 90s when I was a 9 year old child. :-D

  • Trust me I used to be a democrat, but it was a all a lie. They are just big govt a-holes who want to censor anything they don't like. Just like tipper gore tried to do.

  • @ne0nsurf I used to be dem also until I discovered all their hypocrisy bullshit. Then I woke up and realized the real enemy are the politicians and corporations who brainwash people. They have more power than ever before and the decline of formerly great cable channels like USA, TBS, TNT, AMC, etc. are a the result, among other declines in our society. Like you said, they censor anything they choose, including the news. It's all sensationalism now.

  • Gilbert on Friday, Rhonda on Saturday. One in New York, one in L.A. Genius.

  • I used to watch Gilbert Gottfried more than Rhonda Sheer, but boy did I long to meet her.

  • The USA channel really sucks now!

  • Interesting how Up All Night had commercials for "Scientology Made Easy" .. oops I mean "Dianetics" on their show. "SME" is the title of my book. Too bad they played it when good stuff like this was on. But that's why God invented remote controls! 8P

  • I wonder if gilly ever banged shear

  • this were the days!!!

  • there is something about a saxophone that just epitomizes 80's TV. If you tried a saxophone now it would sound like crap but back then it just worked, also the narrators were alot better back then

  • the L.A. one was best. Rhonda was loely to look at.

  • They should do a USA Network 'Up All Night' (and 'ol 80s movies) Reunion with the Commander, Gilbert and Rhonda!

  • This series was awsome. Only in the 1990's could we see such stuff lol. I remember staying up late on Fri/Sats to watch the corny near pornographic movies they played. Love the movies though. I remember the one segment where Gottfried was taking care of the hamster and kept getting his hand stuck in the cage; the movie being played was "Beach Fever" with Kato Kaelin. Ah the memories of being a teenager hehe. R. Shear now has the rights to all her old segements and is selling it on her webpage.

  • 80s was best. 87-93

  • @ne0nsurf Night Flight was also a great program before then, so I'd say it was a great network from birth until '93.

  • ya night flight had some cool videos. from what i remember, they played less music videos from like 88 onward. they'd only play two 30 minute blocks of them, i think and then movies around them. but some nights they'd just forget to play the movie at 1:30 and they'd play music vids, then come back in with a new movie. it might have been that the movie before it didn't end at the hour mark or half hour mark. ?

  • so they'd fill the remaning time with videos? can't remember entirely because i used to watch night tracks a lot.

  • @ne0nsurf Yeah, I watched Night Tracks too. Just about all cable channels were awesome back then, especially USA. Now these channels are dreck thanks corporate monopolies.

  • usa was bought by left wing faggots and dyke supporters at hbo/nbc.

the fags didn't like the hot chicks and the dykes complained about stuff being sexist.

fuck them all in their rectums til they bleed i say.

  • @ne0nsurf I think it was more corporate yuppie shits who wanted to replace b-movies with soccer moms and corrupt cop shows. Fuck NBC.

  • eh no it was because neo-liberal cock polishers at nba bought them out.

just watch msnbc to see the dyke and fag squad at work. chrissy mathews and rachel maddow. that's who the network markets for now.

  • i mean nbc.

basically it's marxist fascist neo-liberals(not classical liberal jeffersonian types) that ruined these networks.

think pmrc types as well like democrats al gore, tipper gore.

    essentially marxist hippie scum.

  • @ne0nsurf It's really not a left/right wing issue, it's about the NWO and corporate greed. NBC is at the height of this now.

  • actually it IS a left vs right issue because there is NO right wing at all whatsover. fox snooze is just neocons and socialists FAKE-rightists.

but I don't care about the semantics, the media is two sides of the coin. the marxist coin.

  • @ne0nsurf Oh ok, so you admit FOX is garbage too. It appears you and I agree there is a big problem with media, but as to it's source, we disagree. I'm not conservative or liberal, but independent. I don't like choosing sides or being labeled. The media does that too often just to split us up and weaken us. No one controls my mind and I'm proud to say that. But I am glad to see you recognize how rotten this channel has become.

  • Fox is just another arm of the CFR(Council on foreign relations) and rupert murdoch green(his mothers name) is just another marxo-facist jewish scum. Btw I have no problem with fun, interesting, freedom loving non-marxist jewish people. Some of those actually helped launch various early indy networks, but not most of them.

I am an independent myself. I voted for ron paul.

dems and pubs are the same side of the coin imo. I vote only for liberty minded candidates.

  • @ne0nsurf We actually think alike in may ways. Indeed dems and reps eat at the same dinner table. I hate politicians because almost all are part of the Illuminati, especially Congress. I prefer to call those kind of Jews zionist Jews and they are a major part of the problem. I have a tad of Jewish blood myself from way back and no one in my family supports fascism.

The eighties were definitely a time when corporations answered to the people, now it's the opposite.

  • @cheapcape Yeah but Fox used to be raunchy too. I don't know whether it's the conservatives or liberals to blame for our lack of culture. Both are anti-sex, anti-freedom. The feminists hate this stuff and so do the Christian fanatics on the right. Fuck em all

  • @dubified89 it's the cultural marxists and pc dyke squad that hated usa up all night. basically the DNC, MSNBC, obama voter etc types.

  • @TheNewMusicNetwork showtime bought usa network and ruined it.

  • @ne0nsurf I don't like Rachel Madcow or Chris Mathews anymore than I like Bill O'LIE-ly or Gretta Van Slutsterin. They are all corporation fascists. But at least we agree that NBC really sucks. They are one of the biggest and most corrupted corporations in the U.S.

  • you're preaching to the choir.

anyway this is what happens when the fcc won't allow competition but instead allows only the a social marxist side to do what they pleace, we get the worst shit possible.

if I ran a tv network i'd have 80s sex stuff, girls with big boobs at the beach running around on tv 24/7. I'd have a decent pro wrestling program on tv again. I'd have music vids, live bands, etc etc.

  • we could actually do something about it on a smaller scale but a lot of people are fucking lazy and don't want to take the time.

you could go to something like tvunetworks . com and host a channel(minimum is 1.5) and have a universal website where people submit content. like b-movies, indy movies, music vids, or stuff in the public domain like 80s films might be, etc.

  • @ne0nsurf Well last I checked the right wing FOX network doesn't have any of those programs on. So again, it's really about corporate monopolies than political slant. Really, these networks are on the same side, they don't care about what the average viewer likes at all. Infomercials and Law & Order garbage dominate these channels now. Also, NightFlight was basically a liberal program with counter-culture videos and shorts and it was a great show too. People were not as divided then.

  • Nightflight was libertarian, NOT liberal. Liberal now refers to a big govt athoritarian wing of a party, sorry but that is a fact.

Don't blame me, blame the neo-liberals that hijacked the name.

Same shit with conservative. Conservative used to mean smaller govt. Now it means religious right, neocons, etc.

Counter culture would be the opposite of what we are givin today.

So counter culture to tv would be aryan, pro-german music, real blondes with huge real tits, freedom of speech

  • If you want to see counter culture, look at my friends page on my channel called "newmusicnetwork".

  • @ne0nsurf Don't agree with the pro aryan stuff, but otherwise you are right on. BTW Rhonda only portrayed a bimbo-like character for UAN, in real life she is quite intelligent and plays other funny characters too. Rhonda was a lot like Elvira without the horror element. I wonder if she still has the lips phone, that was priceless!

  • when I say aryan, I am talking about the 80s. that means real blondes, real big natural boobs, the beach, surfing, healthy people, fun times. it's an aesthetic that was self evident in nearly all of the usa up all night movies. you may not see the connection but it's fucking plain as day.

  • this is why today everything is the exact opposite. We've got CULTURAL MARXISM, political correctness and just plain bullshit that no one wants to see on tv but it's forced down our throats.

we've got shit-hop(even though sales are down 45% since 2004), turd worlders on the beaches and just plain ugly people infesting everything and don't forget the afro-bozos put in the films to ruin them even though the surfer guys never even hung out with them in real life. it's all cultural MARXISM B.S.

  • @ne0nsurf

Basically generation TEXT ruined everything. 20 years back, there were no affordable cell phones or computers, much less internet. People actually had a REAL social life, not a fantasy one on myspace and facebook.

  • texting didn't ruin it. the tv networks ruined it. they push whatever they want.

the only thing remotely decent on tv is 2 and half men, gordon ramsey and married with children reruns.

  • @ne0nsurf Right on. We need to start recording things on analog again too, it has a much warmer better feel. This stuff doesn't work recorded straight to digital.

  • @dubified89 analog is great but what do you mean? i have some usa up all night on vhs already.

if you dl any stuff online you're still getting analog, even if you put it on a disc.

  • Why, did they ever take this off the air?. I loved, staying up all Night, Friday and Saturday. They, showed so, many campy horror, movies. They, need to have more show's like USA UP ALL NIGHT. AMC< just, has Fear Friday, which sucks. I wish they would bring back USA UP ALL NIGHT. It, was such a fun time staying up all night and watching Rhonda, and Gilbert. USA, NETWORK get your fan base back, and bring back USA UP ALL NIGHT!

  • Largely because NBC bought out USA and that's why were are bombarded with crappy Law & Order shows and infomercials. USA was THE channel to watch in the eighties.

  • nbc is a libtard station so it makes sense now.

  • @bmyvalentine214 Yeah Fear Friday does suck when they have it on. Same movies all the time with tons of annoying ads. UAN had such a variety of fun b-movies and the ads were limited. To hell with NBC, I want the old USA back!

  • because they were bought by liberal scum

  • @bmyvalentine214 seriously. fear friday i feel like they play the freighteners with michael j fox like every weekend. I WANT SOME TROMA

  • Man,I used 2 watch Up All Night every weekend. Those were the days. Gilbert was hilarious, still is. They would show adult movies that no child should see,and I saw EVERYONE of them. Man were they great. I MISS Up All Night. Aint shit on tv now.

  • I can still remember Gilbert driving around in a limo, claiming to be the "Most Fertile Man in America" during the movie, "Hell Comes to Frogtown" starring Roddy Piper.

Now, instead of Up All Night and Night Trax, you've got informercials up the butt.

    Sucks to get old.

  • i thought this show was greta and night flights was great to. to bad its gone now

  • Gahh - Dianetics, by L.Ron Hubbard! They used to show commercials for that book all the time, lol.

  • It's HSN Rhonda appears on now, sorry, I was venting and forgot!!

  • God, I miss Rhonda Shear on this show, it just isn't the same with her selling her lingerie on QVC now, my, times have changed, I miss her doing comedy bits between heavily edited B-movies!!

  • Me as well. Admitedly I am spoiled now, though MUCH happier as a b-film Cine Phile.

Having Joe Bob Briggs on TNT's Monster Vision (and I thnk TBS before that), and of course both of these two on USA's Up All Night, where along with HBO and Cinemax, wherein I first watched my first Paramount years of the Friday the 13th movies, '80s Stephen King adaptions, impotred European horror that was heavily cut, ect.

    Ahh fond memories.

  • damn, you just summed up my childhood

  • i wholeheartedly agree!!!

  • Hey, wasn't Chris Aable on that show? I like his interview with Gilbert Gottfried, they're both funny together.

  • up all night was one of the most important comedy shows in history

  • Night Flight was so much better than this show. And Up All Night just got worst as the years went by.

  • What was Night Flight and what kinda movies did they show?

  • This brings back some memories!!
