@happymanfeelssogood You have to understand the Catholic point of 'veneration'. We venerate God through 'Latria', in layman's term, adore or worship. We venerate Mary through 'Hyperdulia', the greatest possible veneration paid to a human being, not touching Latria, which is reserved to God alone. 'Hyperdulia' ranks above 'Dulia' which is the veneration given to the Saints and Angels. Mary-worship in the Catholic Church is a grave offense, and it is punishable by excommunication.

She is only a human being. Now, the Church honors her as the Queen because her Son is the King. In the Old Testament times, the queen was not the king's wife, but the king's mother. Therefore, with the help of logic, if Jesus is the King, then, His Mother is the Queen. (Read 1 Kings 2:12-20)

In the Davidic Kingdom, the king's mother was the queen. Now, applying proper interpretation, Jesus as the King, have Mary as the queen. Didn't you read the Scripture passage? (1 Kings 2:12-20). What a scandal! Give me an official document of the Church that orders us to worship Mary as a goddess.
