Anybody can say they're anonymous and wear a guy fawkes mask. You are not part of the idea if you do not share it. Screwing people over is not part of the idea. If everybody likes an idea then it is pursued. If someone does something stupid on their own, it is rejected as an act of anonymous because most "members" of anonymous reject that behavior.

You would have to get a lot of members to cram into one bank for some kind of a cluster fuck heist for it to be a considerable portion of the group. Thus far, the agreed upon stated goals of the group have been positive. So, we can say what if all day, but we're a dealing with a reality. Do the research yourself, I doubt you'll find that Anonymous have supported anything nefarious.

Sony's EULA has become so draconian and unfair as to not allow anyone to maximize the systems potential. One of the more recent updates for the PS3 actually stated in the EULA that Sony was not responsible for any damage to the PS3's system caused by the update and was not liable if certain games became unplayable due to the update.

I see... Doing more research... It is an idea... You claim to know that they're "hackers," but we really don't know who they are. For all we know this is a well-scripted CIA operation aimed to prey on your emotions.

@KOTE10001 Supposedly they did a pretty serious DDOS against @ least two Syrian embassy web sites, & POSSIBLY even the Syrian Defense Department web site. ('Course, @ THAT point, I personally B-lieve they MIGHT have gone 2 far...note I said MIGHT). There R known problems with this whole format, & when they say "oh, this WORKS, & WORKS so well," problem HERE is that, as some other people who have already studied their propaganda (as have I) realize, *far* 2 easy 2 HIJACK Anonymous in reality.

@bimboblacky It's up to each individual to choose what they believe in and what they are willing to fight for. Of course some actions will overstep the bounds of what others believe is right. Also, some will appropriate the name of anonymous to spread their own propaganda. And many people will be susceptible. These are weaknesses of such a system. Pages could be written about the pros and cons. It all comes down to are random people on the internet intelligent enough to see this.

@dragon12652 Anonymous is a collective idea with no leadership or member lists. Anyone who acts against the collective idea is not a member. Anybody can say they're anonymous and wear a guy fawkes mask. You are not part of the idea if you do not share it. Screwing people over is not part of the idea. If everybody likes an idea then it is pursued. If someone does something stupid on their own, it is rejected as an act of anonymous because most "members" of anonymous reject that behavior.

@dragon12652 In theory maybe, but there are a lot of members. You would have to get a lot of members to cram into one bank for some kind of a cluster fuck heist for it to be a considerable portion of the group. Thus far, the agreed upon stated goals of the group have been positive. So, we can say what if all day, but we're a dealing with a reality. Do the research yourself, I doubt you'll find that Anonymous have supported anything nefarious.

these ppl are not some "idiots who do not open their mind" buwt accept consiously or unconsiously the terms of agreement for what ever merchandise they bought. if you really dislike the merchandise that is bestowed to you than do not support it and i understand this isn't a real option in humane terms :P buwt making others suffer ain't any better. owning a first gen ps3 so it survived it the only failure of the system is when it melts its hardrive due to engeneering genious ofc. Good way of avoiding it is "not to play" in warm tempuratures. Anonymous is a group of fat people followers of Matrix and they make videos using LOQUENDO, they are mad because they were rejected for the girl that they liked in the school.
Some of these started hacking since they discovered the trick of the 1000 lives in Super Mario Bros, believing that all the systems had a weakness.

Anon was responsible for the attacks on Sony, and I applaud their efforts to show that corporation and the world that the people are not powerless, that we can do something. I believe the attacks on Sony were a direct effect of suing George Hotz (AKA "geohot") because he wanted to hack his PS3 and take it to its maximum potential. Long live Anon!

@kageoftheshadow But why the hate on Sony? Remember that Sony is just a company of people who make and sell products for a profit, thats it. Don't they have the right to decide how to sell those products? George Hotz accepted the End user Agreement when he purchased his PS3, he had no right to modify it. Sony just wanted to prevent his hardware from being pirated. The PS3 is no open source device with no open source software, if the wanted to make games, he could've become a developer!

@Alxx96 Hotz was an individual looking to maximize the systems potential and wanted to show others how to do the same thing. Sony's EULA has become so draconian and unfair as to not allow anyone to maximize the systems potential. One of the more recent updates for the PS3 actually stated in the EULA that Sony was not responsible for any damage to the PS3's system caused by the update and was not liable if certain games became unplayable due to the update.
