i just realized how much adrenaline there is to this battle, with the kickass music and the fact that your fighting the huge leader that created the army with you battled, created the industructible chimera that tortured you just trying to avoid it, was responsible for your mothers death, has a freaking CITY named after him, and finally brought your dead brother back to life, but brainwashed him into porkys doing and finally had the nerve to make him the comander of the army.

Porky consistently calls Giygas "the dragon" after Ness owned him in EarthBound. Though in EarthBound it says he is gone forever, I beleive a culmination of Final Starmen caused Giygas's evil to reappear, but in a physical form. However, it's merely an infant, and Porky had no control over it. So, as Porky desired, when Giygas was to be released he would have destroyed everything in existence, except for Porky and his Absolutely-Safe Capsule.

Feel free to spoil it for me, I've only played Mother 2, but I have no idea how 1 and 2 tie together, if at all.

The first game is called Earthbound Zero- it's basically the story of how Giygas first came to earth and his original form- a strange Zeta-Grey looking being called Giegue. The game follows Ninten, (a version of Ness who stole half of Nintenod's name) and his buddies through their quest to stop Giegue from making the world go kasplodey.

The next game (Earthbound) follows Ness as he stops his ambitous superpsycho neighbor from unleashing the power of the devil's machine and freeing Giygas.

Then the 3rd game, Mother 3, follows Flint in the first half and Lucas in the second half. In the first part, Lucas is going home from his (Grand?)parents' house when a forest fire strikes the area. When the fire is out, Flint learns his wife has been killed by a mechanical Drago, and pursues its creators, The Pig Mask Army, led by porky himself. Part 2 follows Lucas as he recovers from the death of his mom, and sets out to eliminate Porky and pull all 12 Dark Needles.

Ground isn't as effective on Pokey. Starstorm deals more damage on Pokey than PK Ground.

I was at Level 64 at this fight, and lacked the Shield Stealer, so that made the fight a ton harder. A couple people in my party were KOd, but Healing Omega brought them back.

My strategy, since I lacked the shield stealer, was to use weaker PSI attacks to get rid of the shield without causing too much damage to Lucas or Kuma. Then, once it was down, pummel him with PK Love Omega and Starstorm.

Hmm...Ground dealt five hits averaging around 180 each, totalling around 900 each time. Add a chance to stun and a slightly lower PP use...I think Ground may be overall more effective for single targets, while Starstorm can nail all enemies on screen for full damage. Of course, I haven't played the game, so I can't be sure of that.
