@tacata1 The disaster at Zama was caused mainly by Massinissa. Hannibal initially had some 9,000 cavalry (1,000 of his s own, 2,000 Tychaeus's, and 6,000 Massinissa's) facing Scipio's 3,000 cavalry. When Massinissa's 6,000 cavalry defected to the Romans, Hannibal found the odds reversed against him - only 3,000 cavalry left facing 9,000 enemy cavalry. In effect, his cavalry was suddenly outnumbered by three to one.
God i wish he wouldn't. A film like that deserves a man behind it like Ridley Scott or Peter Jackson, not Vin Diesel. Expect another another failure on the same scope of Alexander. Im scared he will ruin the image of Hannibal the man i admire the most!

Knowing that Massinissa had defected, Hannibal made
a crucial blunder - he arranged for pre-war meeting with
Scipio to try to solve the encounter diplomatically, in
effect, he gifted the Romans what they were just
hoping for - to buy time for Massinissa to join them.
What he should have done in such a situation was not
to wait, but launch an immediate pre-emptive strike,
before Massinissa could reach the Romans.
