A bit one-sided on the facts but overall a good documentary. The mt. beavers are called boomers because of the sound they make. They love to eat newly-planted trees & seedlings. There are so many of them in the Pacific Northwest that they have to be thinned out to allow the forest to regrow in places where it was logged or burned. A reason why the Tillamook Burn never recovered without human help was boomers were eating all the replants. They had to be mass-poisoned to get the forest to regrow.
We have these in our yard. They live in burrows beneath a large rhododendron, near a small storm water pond. They seem to gather a lot of vinca minor shoots -- I don't know if this is for food or nesting.
