  • Im 18, and I planed on selling my 97' Grand Cherokee for this beauty. But after I learned gas millage well, that dream died :'(

  • @sodadew

the 97 grand Cherokee is far more reliable and sturdy than the 928, it will also get you home

the 928 can be a money pit nut it a nice car none the less :D

  • He was wrong when he said it was the first all aluminum engine to not have steel cylinder sleeves. The Chevrolet Vega came before the Porsche and was equipped with an all aluminum engine block with out cylinder liners.

  • the 1977-1995 Porsche 928 was assembled in

    Stuttgart, Germany

  • for its time theses 928s where powerful cars

  • Too bad no car makers make "real" cars like this one anymore. This had a REAL sound when it's door shut, the new 911's and such sound like a Honda or Toyota. The gear shifter on the manual was amazing on this car. And the starter sound.....ohh man!

  • when i was young this was my dreamcar,,,,,

  • ive got a porsche 928 gts stroeck it looks like it was built today.......

  • i have a 5 speed 1979 :] its a beauty

  • Sad that 80% had Automatics.

  • I have one and I love it! Come on summer! Get the beast out

  • i htink that the porsche 928 is a well built car . but the rear wheeled drive whould makt turning corners a little bit harder

  • Mine... 170mph (with a passenger for a witness). Re-chipped S4.

This car is the best $'s I have ever spent!

  • i know someone who had one, and im going to get one

  • I just bought one of these! my first car im so excited!

  • Had one, loved it, got nicked at 140mph, so back to a Volvo!

  • ugly

  • Porsche, bring back the 928!! We all miss it so :(

  • when i was young my brother and i would call them butt cars every time we would see one cuz the back end was round like an ass

  • Probably the ugliest Porche ever along with 944. I hate that car.

  • Yeah I've got an 88 928 s4 and I love it. So far I've gotten it up to 155mph. I've got it on video. It's called Porsche 928 155mph. Check it out

  • Sexy car :)

  • I am so getting one of these, an S4 mind you..

  • Yeah i agree why would Porsche discontinue such a great car, only to go on with the 911 that is an inherently poor design.

  • ITS DunkelBlau!

  • DunkelBlau!

  • Those 911 purists were terrified of the 928. I've had mine for 10 years - it can BURY a 911. So, the 911 folk made a big stink... cried, whined, etc... the squeaky wheel and all that. At the end of the day... the 928 Owners (and the reasonable/realistic 911 owners not in denial) know what the 928 is all about and can do... and that's ALL that matters. Dr. Porsche has a plan for the 928 before the first pencil touched paper. The 928 was to EXCEED the 911 in performance and he succeeded.

  • 928 for ever !!! :))

  • yes,you can buy one for £1500 which also includes a world of pain for your wallet putting it right !. (Still a brill car though ! )

  • Damn those 911 purists. Why did they kill what was one of the greatest cars in the Porsche lineup. I'd chose the 928 over the 911 anyday

  • and now that generation of purist are driving their kids around in Cayennes or theyre taking driving lessons in themshame on you!. They killed the best thing going and we get the Panamera as a consolation prizeweve gone full circle with a kick to the nuts at the same time.

  • @jxvwp Same here. I'd go for a S4. a great balance of power and economy. and I think those dog leg gear boxes are awsome it makes perfect sense to me. down here in ontario you can pick one up in decent shape for like 6 grand.

  • Coolest car on earth?~~~ hell no~~~

  • simple question:- Porsche 928 S4 or Jaguar xk8/r ?

  • porsche!

  • @spayne28 Oh god... You got an hard question there. As an owner of a 928 '79, I would say the 928... But the Jag is so hot too.

  • what season is this?

  • It's Jeremy Clarkson: Hot Metal

  • A car of extremes,extremly powerful.

    extremly good looking

    extremly reliable-if maintained

extremly expensive to repair. a true work of automotive art I want one !

  • I'm a Nissan 300ZX Twin Turbo owner myself, but I always liked the 928 aswell. Can't have both so i chose the twin turbo.

  • My neighbor has one of these, they got it used I think, but they don't take very good care by the looks of it. Don't drive it much either.

  • I wish it was still manufactured too

  • Your video, explains the this Porsche well. It gives people a real feeling about how the 928 feels. Do post some more videos, will love to see them. Please check out my "Porsche Song" I wrote, there are lots of pics of 928s and other custom Porsches too. Just type in " Porsche Song" on you tube, comments are encouraged.

  • Nice demonstration, still the most beautiful car in the world. Check out my porsche song written for porsche enthusiasts. Just type in "Porsche Song" on you tube.

  • My Dream GT car of the 1980s.

  • If you can't wrench it, you can't own it...unless you have DEEP pockets.

  • or are just smart with your cash lol. i'm looking at a 89 GT.

  • or get one thats already been worked on before ya bought it lol. i'm looking at an 88 S-4 only got one issue it's leaking just under the hatch antenna easy fix I think, the weather seal around it is cracked up pretty bad.

  • you're joking right? you can buy ones in great condition for 7,500-15,000 us dollars. that's not DEEP at all

  • @ipodkiller6 no, but insurance and repairs won't be cheap like the car itself.

  • @ipodkiller6

depends where you live mate, the world doesnt end at the borders of the US
