i truly believe if the company had last till 2010, it would have been maybe (really bad) because many departures, would there be a tna? either way we can't bring back what was once great all we can do, is watch it here, and remember and hope for the best in today's world.
This ppv shouldnt of even been done because they should of closed before this or on this night. They also ended Sids career almost 8 months later and they messed up a few people so ya
I was there at the UC... my dad and i had nose bleed seats. still a great time. we got to go backstage and get autographs from the guys. so so so sweet to be a wrestling fan at that time
ok just wanted to say.. people bashing wcw because there were low points in 2000.. they obviously never watched wwf in 1996. even 2007-2008 were pretty horrific.
God damn the end of wcw cause of this stupid story line and other reasons, why the in the hell would they wanna push kidman to be world champ, he dosnt fit a world champion,
WCW was so popular and they still couldnt take down WWF....and now evertyone is talkin about how TNA will do the job...TNA vs WWE is like a cat vs a pitbull
They put together some really decent shows early on. It only started to go down hill when Russo started to make everything revolve around him. He went on this huge ego trip and started to become the most featured guy on the show and there was so much animosity between he and so many performers it just got terrible. They had sumthin goin for a bit there tho, they really did.
the good thing about the new blood/millionairs club story was that it tied into the past lore of wcw i.e. bischoff and hogan's past relationship, now a feud, and vampiro and sting etc etc,.
the old lore of wcw was played to the max, and this era was a sequel of sorts to the nwo days.
The new blood story was gold. Up untill this PPV it was awesome and could of turned wcw around, they buried it at GAB, and general members of the NB like steiner and bagwell.
it's sad 2 c what happened 2 Luger, he is pretty fucked up luckily he didn't die and is doin better but still he is pretty fucked up. That's y kids u don't do drugs
i liked the relaxed dq rule. but it felt like a cheap ripoff of ecw at times. i think that when they got awsome, they wanted him to feel comfortable, som they went to ecw style rules
The problem with that is the next night, I believe, Mark Madden makes a big deal about the relaxed DQ rule and then they have 3 or 4 straight matches with a DQ finish.
This definitely was one of the better PPVs from 2000 for WCW, especially considering the crap we had to watch for the 3 months prior to this. Also they did a really good job building it up, considering they really only had two shows to do it.
True i think it was there best ppv they had in 2000. shame about the crap that came after this. and yes superbrawl 2000 and uncensored 2000 are two of the worst wrestling ppv's in history. souled out 2000 was ok i guess. but once sullivan started booking in 2000 wcw started getting so shit
I dunno, I liked SuperBrawl 2000 for the sole fact that both Jarrett and Hall were getting shots at the WCW Title, lol.
I don't think either of them were that bad, but no WCW PPV's in 2000 were distinguishable from Nitro I thought. They just using the same TitanTron and layout from the Nitro show.
And I've yet to see Souled Out 2000 to this day, lol.
Souled out 2000 was a good ppv but it had some crap in it to lol.
i recommend u see it lol it could be on daily motion . and it was nice to see hall getting a shot at the world title in 2000 but by that time he had so many bad things going on in his life.
i never really saw jarrett as a main eventer lol. guess they had to shuffle things around in the main event picture with nash walking out and bret getting injured and benoit leaving etc..
Hall vs. Jarret had potential, but it didn't deliver on my expectations. I will still say it was one of the better main events from 2000.
For the first 3 months of 2000 they still used the starship logo stage for Nitro and the somewhat original Thunder set. My main complaint about the New Blood era PPVs is that for the most part didn't feel like PPVs. They would've been great Nitros, but I think they should've stepped up their game a bit more.
Souled Out 2000 was pretty lame for the most part.
Yep but it was nice to see benoit win the belt. nash vs funk was quite a good match two and was builded up fairly decent. I was really pissed off finding out bret was injured and was not going to wrestle sid at souled out i thought it could of been a good match.
and wcw at this time also suffered because a lot of talent had left and they had so many injuries. so they had to rely on sid to carry the company.
Yeah, but their match wasn't that great. I mean Benoit was great, but not a miracle worker. Sid was so far gone at that point, I don't he or Bret could've carried him to a great match. Nash vs. Funk didn't go long enough IMO, all the spots felt rushed to me.
Well half of their top tier talent was injured, and the other half just didn't feel like showing up to work. Sid carrying the company wasn't entirely true, they still had nWo 2000, but that was about it.
I think in Russo's eyes a pay per view and a TV show are the same thing. Look at how he books TNA. The Impact after a pay per view is almost always the blow off to the pay per view. It needs to be the other way around. All he cares about is being able to say the rating did good when the fact is in 3 years they haven't changed.
thats true but i hate to say this in all fairness to russo he had aqguette just stay out of the match and just stay and the top of the cage ive never seen the american bash from 2000 all i know is the stuff that went down with hogan and russo and booker t won the belt that night i think
Just think some people payed to go to this and ordering this on PPV.... SOME
