  • I love this song from that tim moore movie I wonder if a commercial version was released

  • Slam spent his last years with his wife, Claire, who was a fantastic pianist in her own right, in Binghamton, NY. All of us who were lucky enough to catch their gigs at that Chinese joint downtown, let alone the larger stages, were blessed. And HE co-wrote "Cement Mixer," even though his former partner Slim Gaillard claimed it was his composition.

  • It`s a shame that a great pianist like Beryl Booker is forgotten nowadays.

  • Lost count of the times I have played this clip, the laid back groove just knocks me out every time. wonderful evocative film of the period.

  • Big Sid on the tubs!

  • The pianist is awesome. Is that Marilou Williams on piano?

  • Apparently, it's Beryl Booker.

  • it is deek watson of the ink spots

  • I love the guy at 1:44 who spins around!

  • I put gut strings on my old kay!

  • I bet it sounds good!

  • I've got an old Kay, too. Where did you find gut strings? Did they cost a fortune? Because I hate my metal strings.

  • I got my strings from ebay! the global gut string co. out of India! buy it now for $125. or you can bid on sets as well there's always a few set listed! I have a short clip on you tube if you want to hear strings! just click on user name!

  • That woman on the couch is hot.

  • Some grand Slam. Really. Arooti.

  • Saw Slam in my hometown with "The Great Eight" in 1984. He hadn't changed a bit: He's a funny guy and a great musician. For more swingin' jazz feel free to visit my jazz blog. It's linked with my profile.

  • Nice mellow groove ; I love Slim's unique style humming along with his arco: good stuff!

  • Oh Me, Oh My, Oh Gosh! I saw this low-budget comedy short on Turner Classic Movies a few years ago. This catchy tune stayed with me long after the memory of the movie. I tried to find a recording of this — I thought it was a Nat King Cole tune. Thank you for sharing. Slam Stewart is brilliant! I love it! :)
