i mean y? Thats just cruel. the one who deserved the happy ending the most is the mother, u no? The one who devoted her whole life for others. I mean right after teh son leaves as well, which leaves a more depressing finish, especially on children. I mean it starts as a children movie but then it becomes unfit for that title at the end.

Discovered this movie through 4chan of all places. This movie is amazing, just don't expect any ridiculous Disney style miracles, no one coming back to life and all that.

Oh yeah, and I cried. Not the noble one tear cry but the ugly, wheezing, runny nose cry.

@MsCupcake504 ....it is a beautiful movie, but the meaning behind it and the depth of it would be too hard for children to understand - just like Disney's Fox and the Hound...

and ... both me and my older sister cried our ways through this movie... because it was that beautiful

@MsCupcake504 You kidding me. I cried 3 times during this movie and was all depressed a few hours after watching it. Even though a lot of characters die, it was still a good movie though. It's just really sad and there's not a 'happy ending' so not really great for children..
