  • Powerful song. I digress. Edwin writes a lot of songs about people he meets here and there (listen to "Write Me A Song" also on Far From Over). I believe this song is as such. WHen you see him live he tells the story behind each song which is a cool part of his shows. Oddly enough I have never heard him tell this story.

  • moving to the country scene is the best thing rucker ever did

  • Darius and Edwin are also hilarious live, especially when Hootie and Edwin all happen to be playing the same show. You can tell how much fun they have together, which makes their chemistry onstage that much better. They make it feel like the whole crowd is just hangin out together jammin.

  • LOL Darius strolls on stage Heats the mic up with his cameo and walks off casually LOL he's the man! FUNNY.

  • good song

  • You don't have to be locked up by your Mom to appreciate the humanity in this song. "Tell me, what was it like to go to your prom?"

  • lol

  • someone tell me this song was about how edwin was locked up by his mom is this true?? and if so why did she ock him up?

  • Not true.

  • I have seen Edwin 27 times in 7 different states. I have met him 7 times. Edwin was adopted. On the Far From Over album he wrote a song about looking for his real mom called Letter to My Mother.

  • wow edwin mccain is good too I cant wait to see how it takes off everyones going country these days its about time people realized that country music is where its at ..CAT

  • Great Song!!

I think I've heard this before.. something about it.

  • great song

  • This is such a great song.

There is a magic version with Edwin playing it with Warren Haynes at one of Warrens benefit concerts.

  • this song was from the days when musicians were talented ... to bad that doesnt exist any more (

  • good musicians still exist, but they are hidden in the shadows of the crappy musicians.

  • Right! We just need to dig deeper!:) That makes those special moments even more enjoyable sometimes...

  • This is ABSOLUTELY the best song i have heard in a long while and i am so glad i came across it. love it

  • I agree Lj9219 . Don't see talent like this

    to much anymore either.

  • Great song. I miss the 90s. Music had more meaning back then.

  • Good Song. Amazing Voices.

  • One of the best songs ever. I makes me emotional every time. Edwin and Darius are unmatched as far as duets go.

  • Thank you for having this posted! I am a big fan of Edwin and I never saw the video before. Everytime I hear the song it makes me cry, but also gives me the kick in the pants to remember I need to be grateful for everything I have.

    Thanks,

    Missy

  • I've had this tune in my head since I was a kid and it's never gotten old. Edwin is great and Darius makes it even better.

With that said, the dude with the blonde hair (wig?) that left the theater looks like Kevin Bacon lol.

  • great song!
