Right before they shot this episode, Moe (dressed as Hitler) looked at the clock and realized that he's running late for his daughters' birthday, so he ran off-set.
A few minutes later, the LAPD got reports that Adolf Hitler was running red lights on Hollywood. A very Stooge thing to do.
The closing gag was originally created for the end of Laurel & Hardy's "Block-Heads" (1938)- Ollie was supposed to look towards Stan and grumble, "Well, here's ANOTHER nice mess you've gotten me into!". Producer Hal Roach, however, decided the image of them in that situation was "too gruesome", and rejected the idea [this led to Stan abruptly leaving the studio before production ended]. One of the writers, Felix Adler, decided to reuse that gag in this short...with NO objections from Columbia.
I wonder how many people caught that the king in the beginning is supposed to allude to Kaiser Wilhelm II

It's a hilarious sequel to the stooges's 1940 classic You Nazty Spy. Remember the motto " Moronica for Morons."
