you are supposed to configure the internet settings on the wii and go to like a gamestop and purchase a wii card for 20 bucks. That'll get you 2000 points in the wii store which you can access from your main wii screen. DCK is 800 points I think.

It's not necessarily new to the game but the way you perform the glitch may be new because controlling both Kongs via taging your partner in near a barrel in Oil Drum Alley that launched you upwards has always been a glitch in the game.

Ok. The main reason I uploaded video was because it allowed you to do tricks that were initiated some other way, like the DK humping himself glitch, the "take Rambi to other levels" glitch, and the messed-up colors glitch.

Also, the glitch allowed other glitches, like the ones I have in the other 3 videos of the "Best Trick Ever" series

1) This is a DIFFERENT, and MORE VERSATILE way to control both kongs at the same time

2) The game WON'T LET you switch kongs (because it thinks there's only one)

3) It can be done at ANY STAGE

4) You can travel to different levels

I think I know what goings on...

1) You throw the DK barrel, but pause as it's going to open, this leads the game to think the barrel actually opened...

2) Since you get hit, and the game thinks u have the other Kong, it just freezes to let the other Kong to take his place, but since there's no Kong, it doesn't have the time, guess since it freezes in midair, the games actually has the time to make a lose life.

3) When u open the DK Barrel, the game NOW has the time to make DK to take Diddy's place from the second step, and Diddy stops having contact with the camera since the game thinks he's not there, since he fell off the pit, but yet, he is...

I found the glitch trying to speed run Platform Perils. I kept on picking up the DK barrel on the platform. I threw it then restarted the level. That led to the "freeze when you get hit" glitch. Then I just experimented after that.

I think it's the best glitch because of what you can do with it.

Before you smash the DK barrel at part 7, do this:

1. Bring a DK barrel to an animal buddy crate.

2. Stand with the crate and smash the Kong.

3. Have the Kong that isn't on the animal fall off the cliff.

4. Enter another level with an animal buddy.

I was able to bring Winky into Clam City.

It started when I was practicing speed-running Platform Perils. I kept on accidentally grabbing a D.K. barrel on a platform, so I had to restart the level over and over again. I also kept on getting hit by certain enemies, thus activating the glitch(like on part-2). Once I realized what was happening, I ran with it and experimented. Parts 1 through 4 are roughly how it progressed.

That is a really nice find :) It's about the same thing as the old split-up trick but just a new way of doing it and it can be done nearly everywhere. Thank you for this :) I doubt it will be any use for a TAS or speedrun but it maybe will be faster to use this to bring the ostrich to the Octopus Chase.

That sure is nice. That Oil Drum Alley glitch works on every level then, sort of.

The "blue DK" glitching in the water level can be done without using that glitch however, so that part wasn't that interesting. Still neat^^.

I'm going to try some stuff to see if it allows any speedtricks (TAS wise).

Does this glitch work on the original console you think? If so, I wonder if the glitch you showed at the end with engaurde is was got Rare to make it so you don't ride on the animals anymore, you just turn into them instead and they use the same lives as the characters? It's doubtful, but it just came to mind after seeing you move engaurde without anyone on it and actually get it through a good amount of the level.

There were 3 versions of the SNES DKC. There were the competition cartridge version and the other 2 versions were

1.0 and 1.1.

1.1 had some bug fixes from version 1.0 and the Virtual Console version uses 1.1 So you can do this glitch on from a pure original SNES console.

Thanks. The only reason I wondered about the glitch is because in the other two DKC games, you can control the animals in some parts without the kongs being on them at all. This glitch just reminded me of that is all seeing as how he was controlling engaurde the entire time without kongs on them (even though the purple donkey kong did catch up eventually and glitch through a wall).
