Yes people actaully watched it. BUt yu have t remember that most people didn't even have TVs then. they cost the equivalent of half the cost of a new car now. lool. KIds who have balck and white TV were rich!
i heard the goodies make referance to muffin the mule in one of their episodes and wondered who the heck he was so i thought i'd check it out, lol never heard of it in my life
Muffin the Mule in Cinemascope. It was pure magic in my younger days. There is so much technology today but looking back at this early BBC programme, one cannot watch without a smile of affection and know this will never return. Thank you so much.
yes, watching this video and the other loaka bop video of tip top really made me to feel the same, like scary!! but try this video, "obedece a la morsa", it's even worst than this video
It reminds me of WW2 videos. Hitler speeches, and such like. That's why it may seem terrifying. There's also the concept that this person is most definitely dead!
There's that, but for me I think it's more the puppets themselves. Inanimate objects should not move that way, even if--as you know rationally--they are being controlled by humans. There is also something eerie about the woman's muted reaction that is more than a little surreal.
I'm confused...i'm under 30, yet remember this from my childhood D:

i must say its pretty clever puppetry though for the era, sort of a cross between play school and the sooty show. fascinating...
