  • For the Egale has landend. Tell your children when when time grows old but u never surender.

  • I'm a Rock'n'Roll-kinda guy. The music that defines me is the Heavy Metal from the british isles, the driven Blues from the missisipi delta and the strange Psychedelic Rythms from europe and africa.

But you know what? This song might just be the most true, important piece of music ever written.

For one, I simply can't complain about the schmaltz and pathos - because for one, all the schmaltz and pathos in the worlds would be mere understatements.

Because we won't be driven down to dust again.

  • It's hard not to tear up watching this video on the day of the last US Space Shuttle flight. Where will we go from here?

  • Oh, My GOD. . . THANK YOU!! To those who say space is not worth it, I say. . . I pity you.

  • To all of those who think that because we haven't been back to the moon that the dream has been abandoned-- it hasn't. Just because the government no longer has interest doesn't mean that nobody does. Every year we're closer, as companies and individuals with their sights set on the stars plan and design and test. The space race continues, only now it's in our hands.

  • bad news karidrgn, we aren't going and sadly we will never go back to the moon, no in my lifetime. So that means it will be a minimum of 40+ years before we actually TRY to go back, much less go to mars...cowardly failure fear freaks of NASA wont go were the angels fear to tread.

  • "Life... finds a way." Or whatever Mr. Goldblum's character opined in the first bit of "Jurassic Park". The dream remains alive. Starwalker proves that.

  • I cry when I hear this song, because I know what has been lost and abandoned. We should have bases on the Moon and Mars. And be reaching farther.

But human's lack of vision and self destruction instincts have ground us down.

  • so when will we go to Mars? When will we have a base on both?

  • 40 years ago on this date.. Humanity escaped the grip of gravity and laid claim to the stars. One small step for man.. One giant leap for Mankind.

And one day we will return to the stars enmass to carry the Hope of Life to distant worlds.

  • I love this song. I cry when I hear it. It really defines the need to reach for the stars and beyond our planet.

  • Great video... Great Music...

  • que te haces ahora???

si vos escuchas una musica horrible jajaja

    no mentira!

como andas? que loco que nos encontremos en un comentario de youtube! al final el mundo virtual es mas pequeño que el real!

  • the test's dates are posted in the door.

i already went to check that out.

probabilidad y estadistica is march 5th.... or 6th... don't remember...

C-U-L-T-U-R-A, idiota. : / LA VENDEN EN LOS SUPERMERCADOS

  • So sorry your taste in music is so limited...

  • limited!?

why? the fact that i dont like that song (which dont mean anithing to me for the simple reason that i wasn't born in the US) doesn't mean that i might like others of the same genre!

Do i have to apologise again??? SORRY!! (I REALLY MEAN IT, IM SORRY)

AND my taste in music ISN'T LIMITATED!!!

    dont judgeme without knowing me!!!

am i in the oblogation of liking EVERY SONG IN THE FUCKING WORD???

let me tell you somthing, you my friend are a dictator!!!!!

  • Lighten up already it should be more about mankind and just one nation any way.

  • @KattraBlake and what has mankind done to follow on? Just what have they done? Killed and burned and little else...I've lost faith in homo sapiens and their paltry false gods. They are no better than the planets where the cyanobacteria never evolved past the single cell state.

  • @GrigoriZhukov Hell Yes. But If we give up how will it get any better. We are the keepers of our future. Not some nameless faceless they. No you be and the guy next door. So what have you done to make our would a better place today. I am knitting market bags so there will be less trash.

  • i was in tears watching this, i was pulled out of school to see Armstrong step out on to the Lunar surface

  • You had school at 9:56 pm est on a Sunday Night, July 20??

  • dont you think he/she lives in a diferent time zone???

im fron Argentina so my timing is diferent than yous.

sory if i write wrong my english is shity

  • I watched it happen, too. My parents let us stay up late to watch.

Been enjoying Ms. Fish and Ms. Ecklar's work since first seeing them at a con in the 80's. Nice to hear this one again paired with some great historical footage.

  • Holy Cow! Over 20,000 people have seen my kids on YouTube! Thanks to everyone for their appreciation. And thanks to Julia & Eli for making it possible. -- Per

  • I like it when she does "The eternal flame - god wrote in lisp".

  • julia rocks

  • Excellent video. Still a favorite filk. Sung/performed this myself over the years, but it's been awhile and Julia's voice is awesome.

  • Today is July 20, 2007. It's been 38 years since the LM Eagle landed; "time will not drive us down to dust again."

  • good film but crap music, wheres Brian Enos deep blue day?????????

  • Ugliest damn tune since "Rock of Ages" -- so why is this song as beautiful as Schiller's "Ode to Freedom"?

  • because the eagle has landed. We went to the moon, and that though you can argue it was a waste of money or that it was just big show, it was one of the greatest achivments of mankind.

  • The song always makes me cry, and the imagery just completely shoved me over the edge.

  • Beautiful song. I hope it inspires a new generation of space explorers which return to the Moon

  • Beautiful! Thank you so much for sharing this. I hope you plan on doing more Ecklar (and Fish, Alexander, etc) :)

  • You might want to check out the 'filk' videos done by YouTube user thuvt. He's done some amazing work with other Leslie Fish songs, like "Surprise."

  • This brought tears to my eyes...we must get serious again about space!

  • GREAT video man.!

  • The Man has never been in the moon

  • Folks who say we never went to the moon make me wonder sometimes if all that many men walk on the Earth. But then I see a tribute like this and my faith in humanity is restored - thank you.

  • Not yet... It'll take awhile before we get lunar colonies, which would be safest if built at least partly underground (or "IN the moon" as you put it). However, we have had men (if not "THE Man") walk ON the moon, and not just once either.

  • That is just beautiful!

  • I've bookmarked this vid and Terminus Est on my favorites. I truly hope you'll do more Julia Ecklar songs.
