@Fernandez218 she failed out. took up respiratory therapy...living in VA dating a M.D. She's doing quite well. And I guess not all Asians look alike...seeing how the other was a cauASIAN.

@jlui21 i figured that since the other video was a few years later ... people's looks can change. thanks for the update though! and congrats on being a pharmacist :)
i work at CVS/Pharmacy myself ... as a tech, though. from what i've seen in the workplace, retail pharmacy would not be my thing, if i ever studied to become a pharmacist. recently hours have been cut and pharmacists/techs have been overworked. only reason i'm still working there is due to awesome people that work with me.
1. What semester are you in? How tough are the classes? 2. Do you enjoy the campus? 3. Do you feel prepared for the USMLE 1? 4. Is this school accredited to practice in the US? 5. How many people are prepared and pass the USMLE at this school? 6. Any other tips/advice? 7. Is it important that the school is not accredited with FLA, NY, NJ? 8. How do the clinical work? 9. Any first year students we can also talk too? 12. Tution problems? 13. Many people fail? 14. Any other details?
2. Classes are tough. 3. Campus is pretty nice. 4. "USMLE" is determined by the NALPLEX and the state law. 5. We've been accredited since 1956. 6. Our school passes about 90% (1 or 2 fail out of 60-70ppl). 7. Florida and Cali are different. But 48 other states recognize the NAPLEX. 8. Clinical is improving. Other schools are better but I would still recommend our school. 9. I don't know the first years. never met them. "12" $18,000-20,000.
13. Many ppl fail the first year, ~20 out of 70. It's pretty tough but not impossible. 14. Our school is good, maybe not the best and could improve in preparing students for a residency. BUT it is still competitive and you can learn a lot.
@Allbymyself82 I forgot about this vid. But 66 made it out of 92? It was a lot tougher than anyone would have expected. crazy.
do note that I actually filmed some last stuff a few weeks before graduating And well, a few scenes of our actual graduation. I will someday put it together.
@kenyakeoni out of the 92 ppl we started, we ended with...66? We lost 27 our first year. it was craazzyyyyy. Half the ppl on that vid....either dropped or failed one class. I guess it was a bad omen to interview them? haha. oh well. its OVER.
Well, its more like an initiation than a "celebration" of the first year. and well, its a tough year because we lost a handful along the way that it makes it rather sad b.c the people with whom I have interviewed were the ones I spoke with.
Loved the video! This reminds me of my White Coat Ceremony... I'm in the University of Puerto Rico Medical Science Campus, doing the PharmD, Class of 2010 also! We just have 1.5 more years to go and the title is ours... It feels so awesome, specially after all the hard work and sleepless nights studying for Pharmacotherapy and Pharmacology. 2010 will be a great year for us all!
b)That always happens :( We've lost 3 along the way and our classes are only made up of 40-45 students, plus 5 more may be gone by the end of this week if they don't pass a remedial exam.
c) I agree that it's a bittersweet thing for us not to be able to share this achievement with all of those that started the journey with us, but it's still important and a big step in our lives...
d) Yeah Puerto Rico! Do you remember her name? Only 2 Pharm schools here...
2nd year for me was rough, especially working the whole time too. But I'm on rotations now! I start my first rotation in internal medicine tomorrow at 7:00 a.m. so I'm getting geared up! hang in there guys!
alright. 2nd year, 2nd semester was a better than the first semester.
but man, we are done are second year. such an accomplishment for us because i find myself studying all the time. So sad. no life. but oh well, how did your second year treat you?

These white coat ceremonies are getting to be a bit ridiculous. What kind of recognition do you deserve when you haven't done SHIT yet?? How about you carry the neurosurg intern call pager for a month (q2 call) and then let's see how much you give a crap about your short coat?
well, the WWCs could be either at the end of the first year (currently for most schools) or graduation (which wouldn't make much sense)...and 'getting to be a bit ridiculous' is an interesting statement because I thought they were relatively new...
we lost 7 ppl due to fail our and drop out, and on top of that, a bunch of us are offtrack so our class is going to be smaller than other classes - but we also had the smallest admittance in the first place.
I think it's cool. Our white coat ceremony was about the same... but we didn't tape it:) How's first year treating you guys? Second year is rough man. but it's going well.
I am currently working on my next vid for pharmacy school. We just came back from APhA trip in Atlanta so hopefully I will get it up in the next week or four.
..next week or four... lol, that's awesome. Only we pharmacy students think on those lines:) I had to work so I didn't even make it to APhA at all... and I'm only 40 minutes away in Athens...
University of Louisiana at Monroe. I guess I should have placed the name of school as well. I could redo it slightly because I never did finish it the way I wanted it be.
I graduated from Pharmacy School just a little over a year ago (Dec 2005). To those who can't wait for 2010 and just want to get out: take it slow and enjoy school while you can! The life of a Pharmacist is busy and stressful. You don't go through 6+ years of school to just take it easy and make "the big bucks" I loved college. Pharmacy School was challenging and very stressful at times. But I wouldn't trade those years for anything. Good luck all of you student pharmacists!
girl at 3:05 and the girl in this video

look alike.
is she one of the unfortunate few that dropped out and end up dying her hair before going to work at Hooters?
cool video! Congrats!
