The CCHR do an excellent job of making psychiatry look a whole lot better, the quacks in the CCHR should stick to "auditing out body thetans" and taking overdoses of niacine and 8 hour saunas in the "purification rundown"!
Hubbard's paraniod delusions live on in his crumbling old cult, sad.
@laserofjustice Nonsense. CCHR is perhaps the most effective mental freedom advocacy group there is. After Peter Breggin and the Critical Psychiatry Network, there are almost none who can say they have achieved as much.
@TMOvids Lisa Mcpherson was denied medical (psychiatric) help and held against her will by the cult of $cientology for an "introspection rundown"- Hubbard's quack cure for psychosis- with inevitable results. She died under the "care" of $cientology found covered in cockroach bites and severely dehydrated. THIS is "standard tech" as per Hubbard.
Hubbard himself spent his last years a gibbering wreck imagining dust everywhere and paranoid of "body thetans".
@TMOvids I'd enjoy it more if I didn't have to make it. Do you really need it spelled out to you- the CCHR IS SCIENTOLOGY which uses utter bullshit to replace clinically proven medicine resulting in many deaths.
The CCHR has zero credibiliity outside $cientology, it's president JAN EASTGATE was arrested for grooming an abused child to lie about it to police.
The CCHR is a dangerous hate group full of $cientologists who are so brainwashed as to have no rational thinking abilities!
@laserofjustice Oh right, you think CCHR and scientology are the same thing. That explains the earlier ramblings. Of course, that statement is totally false. A significant part of CCHR is non-scientologist. One of the founders, the majority of the experts and speakers, and a number of the volunteers. Scientology's view, which you label as "utter bullshit", is incredibly common among psychologists, and results in far far fewer clear-cut deaths than psychiatry.
@TMOvids I KNOW that $cientology uses the CCHR as one of it's many front groups- like "Way to happiness", "Narconon", etc- it's what Hubbard called setting up "safe houses" that seem to be benign but really funnel people into the cult whilst trying to gain a foothold into respectable society.
Name a psychologist who shares scientology's view..a qualified one!
@laserofjustice Do you have any evidence that scientology uses CCHR to turn people into scientologists? I have seen nothing of the sort happen, and suspect that is a conspiracy theory.
Psychologists that share CCHR's view would be people like R Bentall at Bangor, J Moncrieff at London, I Kirsch at Hull. I am more familiar with the UK scene as you may have noticed. Critical Psychiatry is very widespread, and CCHR can hopefully take it to the public.
@TMOvids There is plenty of evidence that the CCHR is just another front group for $cientology- frequently CCHR spokepeople have little to no understanding of psychiatry and a particularly crazy knee jerk reaction to psychology.
The fact that Hubbard blamed everything from the holocaust to 9/11 on the "evil psychs" doesn't offer much balace or credibility, either!
@laserofjustice Fair enough. I guess I support them for the aims and achievements more than whatever is motivating them. Many people do the right thing for the wrong reason, and so even though many scientologists do think psychiatry is behind 9/11, I will support CCHR :)

@laserofjustice I'm sure you enjoyed your little speech. Now could you answer what the hell this has to do with CCHR?
