  • Μουτς ! ξερεις εσυ...

  • good stuff

  • David Bowie is hot

  • Absolutely my favorite version of this song. He did justice to the goddess of Blues Nina Simone!

  • @OzDangerFlicks her piano is amazing though, imagine his vocals with her piano...aaah.

  • Funny how Bowie--not know primarily as a crooner--can more than hold his own with the greats from the past such as Sinatra and Crosby.

  • True that! It is one of the most underrated songs...:P

  • he didn't write this...

  • his voice on this is so amazing in this song. the words are wild is the wind and his voice is wild and soaring its like hes channelling heathcliff from wuthering heights.

  • awesome song

  • Me parece una canción maravillosa, en la línea del Bowie más acústico, con impresionantes melodías, un artísta de los pies a la cabeza

  • Songs like this are reason enough to bring pharmaceutical cocaine back.

  • Awesome.TY l for postig.

  • I hear music of Bowie for more than 30 jears and It´s alway´s a Inspiration to me! This song i heard shurely hundret of times and it´s like i heard it first!

For me Bowie is one of the 25 all time stars!

  • For quite a number of reason this song is my all time favorite of all songs. The time, the place, the girl. Anne Maria Salo, where are you now?

  • God! This bloody awful! What a crap version of a great song....to think I USED to be a major Bowiephile in my teens!!!!

  • @jimdivax yeah, i use to belive in the govt until i found out 9/11 was an inside job and the CIA were the biggest drug dealers on earth, same differance

  • wild is the wind-david bowie,gijoe989.

  • In love with the original, but Bowie just makes this his own.

  • I heard this in Alpha Dog.

  • I can explain how there are people that dislike this art masterpiece???

  • he is singing like waves.... he is singing like rocks... he is singing like everything in the universe... he is a must for everyone... even for the ones who are already dead...

  • Pure Genius, work of art :-)

  • Fabulous! didi

  • i fuking love this song xx!!!!

  • This is my favorite recording of this song...love Nina Simone's and Johnny Mathis, but this one is especially beautiful and raw.

  • The Woman in me who is lost...I find back in David Bowie...he gives me back my softness...so i can lay back in the arms off my earthly mother.

This sweetness makes me ably to fly Wild in the Wind....wich is my nature as a Woman.

    lovely thoughts Finate

  • Planet Unicorn lead me here...

  • anybody know where I can find an instrumental version of this?

  • This song is so beautifull that even homophobic rednecks fall in love with David Bowie after hearing this song

  • @litlemadguitarist I kinda doubt that, not sure if every person has the capacity to understand/feel real art. But I understand what you mean.

  • @litlemadguitarist but not quite beautiful enough for youtube haters to not bash people without reproach.

  • This song is for me, i am crying.

  • I cry... it´s so beautiful...

maybe soon I´m dead and I want my beautiful wife to play it on my funeral... this song is what my love to her means

  • @Tubefritzle keep on living please!

  • Wow its so beutiful!!

  • devastatingly beautiful....I am a mess inside

  • it's not his song, it's only one of many interpretations. but great in his own way as always.

  • @dudadhk Original by Johnny Mathis....most known with Nina Simone

  • male version of me...same ....

  • The best cover...ever

  • best of best !! thank you!

  • @Higbby super cover of Nina Simone

  • @colourstrom Nina Simone's was a cover too, of a Johnny Mathis original, but this is far better than both .

  • brilliantly sung by bowie & shirley horn... like the leaf clings to the tree ~victor...

  • My uncle ' taped' this for me in the early 80's, still one of my favourites. I agree his voice and delivery blow all newcomers out of the water.

  • Bowie is brilliant and talented.

  • a brilliant version of a classic song updated and sung superbly by david , brings back great memories , whats not to like ? , an all time classic by the great man himself , never tire of listening to it ,superb .

  • The most beautiful song ever written. David Jones/Bowie is a genious. No one realizes that quite. I hope he does a concert in NYC again. He is my favorite singer, songwriter, actor..human being!! It was John Lennon but Bowie is so amazingly talented and kind and a real humanitarian. And no vanity or power trips. By either him or Iman. Lovely couple.

  • oh david...:)

  • This song is so beautiful <3

  • It cuts you in half, what a brutally powerful and beautiful song

  • =D WOW! What a song! What a voice!!!! What phrasing! What passion!!! I am speechless!!!

  • How can 3 people not like this??

  • very wonderful

  • such a sexy song.... phew.....

  • this song and David's voice do things 2 me...

  • Any girl who doesn't fall in love with Bowie after hearing this is a lesbian.

  • @NStenO

Okay, I'm a lesbian and each time I listen to that song I fall in love with Bowie, again and again...

  • @NStenO : Not a very enlightened comment since I know many lesbians who are enamored with Bowie.

  • @countceprano Then you are mistaken in what the word "enamored" means. Or your friends aren't lesbians.

  • @NStenO Or YOU are mistaken in thinking that sexuality isn't a many-hued, endlessly variable continuum!

  • @LeshaAnn Of course I don't, that would be ridiculous. But I'm pretty sure the term "lesbian" means "a woman 100% into women". Anything less would be bisexual, would it not?

  • @NStenO How about this? I'm a lesbian and even I'm in love with him after hearing this!!! Such a beautiful song it really communicates how anyone feels when they're just head over heels crazy in love.

  • @NStenO I fell in love with him after this and I'm a straight male. :-)

  • @NStenO LOL, I'm a lesbian and I'm in love with him all the same.

  • @NStenO Then i must be gay. Even though i have a girlfriend.

  • @NStenO That's stupid. Why can't a lesbian love David Bowie for his work? She just may not want to fuck him.

  • @billyboylb "Love" and "in love" are completely different things. Christ, I've had to qualify that comment countless times. Can't people read?

  • @NStenO lol..there is probably a reason you've had to qualify it countless times...but to each his own.

  • @billyboylb Yes, that reason is the number of idiots on YouTube. I thought I made that clear in my first reply. And no, "each to his own" doesn't really apply here. We speak the same language, and use the same dictionary; English is only subjective to a certain extent.

  • @NStenO Like I said, "to each his own."

  • Not really a fan of this artist ...but I gotta say that was pretty damb cool.

  • Great David!! Great Nina!!

  • this is a Nina Simone cover.

  • @damschenfamily

It's not a Nina Simone cover. The song was written by Dimitri Tiomkin and Ned Washington in 1957 for the movie 'wild ist the wind'. First sung by Johnny Mathis, nominated for the academy award and already been very popular those days. Nina recorded it in 1966 and David in 1976. Barbara Streisand did a version in 2003, which was a hard stroke for the pharmaceutical industry, as it simply deleted the emetics market for all time:)

  • @sailor515 And Bowie's version blows the rest of them off the map!!

  • Great song, great performer!!

  • great song...but you guys all know this is a cover version of Johnny Mathis "Wild is The Wind" right??? Not taking anything away from The Thin White Duke, but give Mathis' version a listen and then compare...enjoy...

  • The most beautiful love song ever... "Gorgeous"... Yes, absolute right! :) It turns me on 2love... :)

  • I like the way YouTube hides the likes until you rate. Thumbs up to YouTube, for once.

  • Gods this is gorgeous....

  • ABSOLUTELY NO BETTER COVER OF THIS SONG THAN BOWIE'S!! LOVE THIS!!!

  • It almost has a 007 James Bond theme vibe to it..

  • Gives me shivers every time I hear it. This is how I wish I could sing.

  • @longarinij me too~

  • one of the most passionate and moving ballads of all times like only Bowie could sing... pure bliss!!!

  • this is talent,music,emotions,feelings.......

  • He's magnificent

  • I bet the writers never imagined it could be performed as good as this. Bowie's phrasing is superb, could never be composed, this interpretation is beyond compare. Infact, he changes it so much he could have written a new text and had a new song,............................but that catchy 3 note guitar riff is on the original score so maybe not.

  • Selvagem é o Vento,,,,mas eu também!!!

Boa noite para todos....descansem em Paz <3

  • nina simone does a very good version of this song, it sounds like passion on a cactus

  • Oh words tear a soul!!!

  • This is one of my favorite Bowie songs of all time. It makes me weep with joy and sorrow on the inside whenever I listen to it. Sometimes it makes me weep on the outside as well...

  • totally agree... repeat repeat repeat...

  • ESTA CANCIÓN TE PONE!!

  • to agapimeno tragoudi tis EIRHNHS

  • This inspired me to do a cover...but no one sings this song like David Bowie!

  • ALPHA DOG!!!!!!!!

  • The best love song! Learned it by heart since the first day for I couldn't stop listenning!

  • the perfect erotic climax to the best album of the 70s and the best of bowie's career...the amazing shift from cold, sterile fascist to broken bisexual tragedian has never been matched in rock music. only dave could pull it off.

  • amame diosa del inmesurable viento

conductora de pasajes sonoros y oniricos

traes el viento que regala frescura, paz ,divinidad

tu viento tu viento yo quiero tu viento.

  • στη Ματίνα μου..............

  • excelente, el mejor, yo lo pondria a la altura de la Callas.

  • @MrAlibowie PLEASE, IF YOU LISTEN MUSIC IN ENGLISH WRITE IN ENGLISH

    THANK`S

  • Awesome song. Achingly beautiful, tender, fragile and poignant performance by Bowie.

Don't let's forget - we are also life itself. Treasure life, love ourselves, and each other...

  • You touch me i hear a sound of mandolins

You kiss me ,with your kiss my life beggins

  • GREAT VIDEO.. and song is obv amazing..

  • I agree! It's highly addictive!

    Simply magnificent...

    Making pictures with emotions.

    Thank you for sharing.

  • One of my all time favourites :-) (The windblown tree in this video is very similar in shape to the birthmark on the inside of my right knee. Wow, that's freaky, man!)

  • wonderful ballad. Brilliant visual artistry.

  • and of course, Randy Crawford!!!!!

  • Nina Simone and David Bowie's versions are the best for me. One of my all -time favorite songs.

  • Bowie owns this song...no-one else captures the emotion of the lyrics.I love N.s singing this 2nd .... but Barb is just cashing in.Sorry but that is the truth..

listen to this on your ipod full blast with no iterruptions...it's raw love.Simple... at his best AMAZING Bowie.

  • I'd love to see Thom Yorke cover this song. His haunting vocals would fit so well with the song.

I love this version. Personally, I prefer Cat Power's version, but Bowie is simply classic.

  • Awesome!

  • emotive and desperate! the singer's love for this woman comes across as so beautifully genuine. i love it! this is easily the best rendition of "WITW".

  • @unciamajor woman? bowie keeps the lyrics to non-gender status...i don't think he's singing to a woman at all...i'm pretty sure it refers to another man. who are you to deny it?

  • my lovesong from david if listen i can fly to my soul it is so nice...

  • What can you say???? SUPERB! So Great! So much talent! I have been a Bowie fan since 1973, and I still love his music!

    rduquet

  • sooo beautiful

  • thanks very. A deep Bowie song.

  • one of my favourite bowie songs his voice is so haunting! "SUPERB" thanksgreat to hear this again........

  • Plain Beauty

  • This is one of the very rare songs , where lyrics & melody & artist meet to produce a masterpiece...... yea!

  • Llega al alma. Estremecedora interpretación de Bowie. Siempre entre mis favoritas, gracias por subirla.

  • thanks for posting.

  • HUNTING and UNNERVING !

It's a very dangerous song, can make you very addictive to it.

I heard it for the first time many years ago and until now, everytime I hear a note or two of this wonderful song I can't take it out of my head for days!

    No complaint, I love it.

Thank you for sharing beauty !

  • @coaragdlm soo true what you say.

  • idiot

  • Although, I do worship the ground Bowie hovers over, Jeff Buckley and Nina Simone's versions have always been my favorite...but this is not crap, nothing bowie does is crap, his actual crap, isn't even crap it's glitter and fairy dust. So to be fair, it's not any better or worse it's just completely different. Apples and oranges luv

  • i totally agree with encarniguillen, this is the most beautiful and emotional song ever and is sang immaculately by Bowie, noone could sing it better!

  • @xpistivaki Nina Simone's version is no worse...

  • la mejor canción del mundo, es imposible cantarla mejor.

    es la perfección hecha canción.

  • Bowie over the years was such a renewer of music. He sometimes even made false starts, because we managed to understand his music first a year after. He is a real legend!

  • It's a song about desperation for love and acceptance. Some wedding number!

  • I have always liked Bowie because of his different and usually superbly unique songs and voice. I first heard this on a compilation tape about 5 yrs after getting into Bowie and I think i rewound and played just this song again and again for a couple of hours!! From the lovely guitar intro to his fantastic vocal, this is such a tune. If I could sing (and I cant!) I would love to do this song, even just strumming the chords is satisfying. To all you WITW fans , I salute you.

  • da waren wir sooo was von verliebt, knutschent, versunken, schmelzent vor leidenschaft, weis du das noch?was hatt die zeit nur mit uns gemacht,?alles kaputt, nur noch scherben,es tut mir so leid.

  • This song is so heart-filling. An amazing piece, and interpreted so extremely well by Bowie. I decided, when I have the right opportunity to marry the man of my dreams. I'd see if he would also love this piece, and make it our wedding waltz.

  • me too!

    it is stunning isn't it...mmmm

  • Yes it is- absolute perfection.
