thats not nearly enough watre for a 4 person week long trip idk where your getting your water info from but if you take that little water with you on a week trip and dont have any other means of getting clean water i dont expect you to come back alive cause your gonna die from dehydration. on the other hand dont be like this tard and bring water like that
it looks like he's way over burden! also, thats enough water for a 4 person week long trip (handwash, dishes, and drinking) why would he have a 5 gal jug for what i am assuming is just a day trip? get a water filter if you think youre going to be that thirsty!
LOL.........yes, how not to pack your kayak....that is five gallons of water...try a water filter and carry a couple of liters of water instead...that is probably the poorest or most unwise way to pack a kayak with that much weight that high on the back of his boat...rookie is in the house. A couple of good paddle strokes and he is capsizing...he did not get far for sure...
Also has his paddle reversed.... obviously a real beginner with no kayak instruction.... this would be a real disaster is any kind of serious water....
Sea kayaks have cargo holds, so yes, you're supposed to fit stuff inside. Every kayak with a cargo hold also comes with a weight limit denoting how much stuff you can bring with you (with my 535 cm long kayak it's 40kg). You don't need to get anywhere near this limit before you start noticing the kayak becoming heavier. I can't imagine what paddling a fully loaded one must be like, never mind an overloaded one like this one!
fully loaded boats are quite easy to paddle to be honest, they become much more stable coz they sit lower in the water, im willing to bet that the person in the video didnt actually have very much packed inside the boat which is causing its instability. i was kayaking in greenland for 10 days n we had 5 litre bottles strapped to the deck lines along with other stuff in dry-bags and it made negligible difference to its stability because all the hatches were stuffed full already.
cool clip thanks for sharing ..

It's far easier just to bring a microbiological water filtration pump. $50-60.

Carry a bag wit purifacation tablets or a mini stove again in a water tight bag and in storage then just use river water. No dehydrating there!

why you should take water with> You are peddling in pretty clean waterxD If you get thirsty, take some out the river:)

aarrgh!!! I wanna try some kayak! Never done it. I love canoes, but kayak seems so much nicer.
I probably never will though, cause I'll look like this person. And fuck that! :)

So... I don't kayak, but I can see this makes the boat unstable. You're supposed to pack it inside?
Aaaand what's wrong with a flat-bladed paddle?
