I went to the theater twice to see this....1st time alone because no one else really knew about it..then i loved it so much, that i gathered a big group of us to see it a 2nd time...so i used a free pass to see a later movie, sadly, i was basically the ONLY 1 who fully appreciated it. i mean, they laughed a lot at the funny parts...but basically kept hoping for more jokes.

Yet, i enjoyed it more as a drama, was very sweet and this is coming from a guy. it was both hilarious and beautiful.

Jesse eisenberg is one of my favorite actors out there. I loved squid and the whale, that scene where he starts sobbing in the hospital really showed how well this guy can act. Jesse eisenberg deserves the high praise he's been getting and for the negative comments towards him then it's a shame that you don't appreciate his work. Can't please everybody right? i hate the twilight hype really, so it quite followed that i didn't like kristen stewart so much. well guess what, she proved that she indeed is a great actress with this flick... she played Em's role such that its more human, and yes, very relateable. and yes, jesse is awesome! i love the movie not becaue it's funny, but because it's a more realistic love story set in 1980s. i'm an 80's person, though i was born in the 90s already.
