@liverpoolmatt87 The Lords can do little to affect anything, they can block a law going through, but only for a certain amount for years then they have no choice, they might as well not be there. they are more advisers to the parliament than anything, hence why people get seats in the house of lords for achievements in important arias of society. @5505miller of course the queen has little effect because england is a constitutional monarchy, the parliament had stripped the monarchy of their divine rights to rule and prescribed to them some reserve and limited powers....that is all. although the parliament has more political power but the powers of both parliament and the monarchy goes both ways. lastly that is your opinion to say that god save the queen is dull.

@5505miller plus jerusalem is used as a metaphor for heaven in the song. and the only historical reference to the song it makes is the idustrial revolution. furthermore if it were not the house of lords being part of parliament then england would be screwed even more than it is now.
