Hey im new to Udyr but from your video I can see something but I want to ask. You seem to do something along the lines of: Hit with Tiger/Phoenix hit 3-4 times then switch to Turtle hit 2-3 times and keep switching out like that. Is that the way to go?

@xXW0lfD3M0nXx the phoenix 3 times is because the ability does extra damage to enemies in a cone infront of him on the third hit, so yes stay in phoenix for the third hit and then change to turtle, then back as soon as u can, whereas the damage from tiger comes from the first hit so it doesnt matter as much how long u stay in the stance, u can stay in turtle longer if needed

Tip: If you start with the smite at begining, you can use it at the end of the lizzard fight. Making it a bit faster and a bit more secure in damage against monsters.. still it leave you in a bad play if the other team counter jungle. In the end its a choice of course.

For the Phoenix Udyr Aggressive Path, you can start at Wolves first, sweep the camp, go to blue around 1:55 (when blue spawns) and continue to jungle, saving anywhere up to 15 seconds.

I need to learn a jungler since I'm approaching level 30 and nobody really jungles in my summoner region yet. Should I just learn Amumu, since I already own him and have Mpen runes (since i have ap casters), or should I save a shit load of IP for Udyr and then waste time on all the runes later?

I know udyr is more of a bruiser whilst Amumu only tanks, but people say he's fantastic,

I always do phoenix tank/chase build. Start at wraith -wolf -golem recall - blue - red - gank. Then I am lvl 4 with lvl 2 phoenix 1 bear and 1 turtle. With ghost u can get almost anyone in lane.

Very curious why you use 21-0-9 and armor yellows with Tiger Udyr.

Instead of Dodge yellows and Nimbleness in Defense.. Plus dodge boots, if they have strong AD, makes great use of your passive for quicker Jungling but especially for Mid/Late game boost.

Personally I like Yellow Dodge with 1-19-10, 1-13-16 or even 11-9-10.

@latinajoseph While I'm not stonewall, I watch most of his videos, and thus I'd recommend either -- Armor pen quints, attack speed reds, armor yellow, and choice blue (I'd get CDR or scaling MR, depending on if the majority of the junglers you play go oom often [even with blue] or not); or -- 6/7 armor pen reds, 2/3 attack damage reds, attack damage quints, armor yellow, and attack speed blue/choice blue. Those tend to be the most used runes throughout the many different jungler builds.

VAST majority of jungles, especialy AD, will use 3 ArmPen Quints, 5 ArmPen reds, 4 AS or AD Reds, 9 Armor yellows & your choose of blue (I prefer MR for late game or AS for jungling with certain champs).

With 5 ArmPen reds, 3 quints & masteries you will have 24 ArmPen, which brings all Neutral creeps (except baron & Big Wraith) to 0 or negative Armor. Which really helps with Jungling. Theoddone, from Team Solomid, SaintVicoius from CLG and Lapaka from Curse gaming use that setup.

@pablopablo221 I've always thought in a gank scenario that the pros and cons of tiger vs phoenix nearly balance out, but the difference is phoenix stance gives better early jungle but seems to fall off a bit late game, unlike tiger stance. I could be wrong, but that's what I've gathered. As a disclaimer, I've never even played Udyr, just read a lot about him and watched him played a lot when I was looking to decide whether or not I wanted to buy him.

well udyr phoenix does more dmg in jungle as in ganks cuz of the magic dmg and not armor + if you chase someone you dont need to hit them to do some dmg to them compared to the tiger stance whereyou have to be in melee range to do dmg

Played Tiger jungle udyr yesterday and went 18-2, it's hella fun.. Phoenix just doesn't have the burst that Tiger does. Started sword and pot, got a blue leash, took wolves, wraiths, golems, B'd for shoes + 3 pots, took red and ganked bot. QWQE at that point, I like to get 3/1/3/0 so my ganks are devastating. Phoenix might be nice for some, but ever since I started taking half of people's hp with a triforce and defensive Tiger Udyr build, I was sold.

1 point in tiger is nearly the full damage of the dot. Leveling Phoenix stance to five gives much more benefit than tiger to 5. You get the amazing scaling on tiger at level 1 so the only reason to level it past that is attack speed. I find myself going RWRERQ and leaving q there for turtle or bear. Even once Phoenix is maxed. Tiger really shines at level 1 and end game. You can do just as much damage with Phoenix it just takes a second or two for the third hit proc so against heavy flash champ

The single fastest jungler in the game currently is Udyr. Olaf hasn't been the fastest in a long while - NOCTURNE is faster than Olaf.

I suggest you guys watch the team battle videos too - they give lots of information and very aggressive invasion paths.
