thank you. this vid was done very profesionally. drm is most disturbing but my understanding is the crypo methods are futile. much like the dvd crypt alg can be broken in seconds with modern cpu
The funny thing is that you sound like an open-source linux fanboy, you know that a lot of the developers do it for money? Donation, ads etc really do pay. Open-source may sound to you as "free", "clean", "users in control". What it really means is incompatibility, lower quality as developers tend to create better software when they have it as their job, and not some "spare time" shit. Not to mention lack of good support.
@vegardvg1 I personally am a fan of linux and I agree what you say. programs are better created when the programmer is getting paid to do so. I am also a capitalist, but I hate Drms and therefor I choose Linux as my os of choice. once I see a good product on the market, I will buy it if it works for my os. I bought a linux game not long ago for 50 bucks because it has no drm. I believe that s the point. To fight this bs, the user must not give in to extortion.
@wooka64 The Linux kernel actually has support for TCPA hardware available on things like Xeon processors. Right now it's mostly used in military and server applications. It would be kind of cool to have hardware able to enforce certain security policies under Linux.
@vegardvg1 Nonsense. Proprietary software makers don't necessarily have incentive to make things compatible, but to have incentive to make things incompatible. I'm all for making money, but software made through commercial means usually isn't of higher quality, better supported, or easier to modify.
Rofl, you guys, John Doe won't have the knowledge to know what to trust and what to not trust. And on most of computers you can generally do whatever you want, but they implement a basis of "untrusted sources" to protect unknowing John Doe. _But_ you are able to change it yourself. Apple is one of the few companies i know that don't trust you at all.
Some day soon maybe even with in ten years this chip could be inside YOU! These issues are even more important when consider that the merging of humans and technology is already happening.
@josh885 I refuse to let any micorochip inside me by the government LOL. The government cant even run the country so I don't want them meddling with my insides. Pluse they dont even know when life begins so they need to stop trying to be Gods LOL XD.
personally i don't trust computer industry and major software companies. too often they are thinking their own interest's rather than users which situation usually winds up making more profit for them but zero advancement for the user.
