  • Andover, KANSAS had a terrible tornado in '91! I was scared to death! My house suffered a lot of damage. Windows knocked out, no roof, no cars, no flowers, plants anything!

  • is this mass or is that minnesota?

  • Minnesota

  • Try paying attention to what people title their video's, hence the title "Tornado Sirens".

  • @mike18xx the tornado tore apart andover.

  • I was at 101st & University. The sky turned black, the trees were sideways, and my daughter & I ran like hell for the lower floor. The tornado ripped through a few hundred yards North of here, but the devastation across the entire North Metro was unbelievable. We'll never forget that day.

  • Yeah, I live Elk River, MN.

  • Yeah I live in Andover, and the worst of the storm was 1 street over. There was HEAVY damage to the houses on that street, and several were rebuilt.

  • i live in Andover Minnesota and yes i was thare win the tornado came throw Andover Minnesota i panicd a lot LOL are home had lots of damage LOL so uh thanks for the memary dude 2005 was awesome but not that .

  • oh crap .

  • I live in downtown Minneapolis (originally from CA) and all this siren stuff has me curious. Does anyone know where I could actually see one? I go to Roseville quite frequently, and on County Rd B there is something there in front of an elementary school btw Fairview & Snelling. I guess I dont know what I am looking for LOL any info would be great! Thanks!

  • every year around september the twin cities area always gets a tornado scare... i remember this one well

  • If you remember the storm from Fall 2005, that was bad. (It was in the Andover area) Huge trees were uprooted, and my school's lower gym was flooded.

  • Yes I remember it. I live just north of the damage areas.

  • Yeah. Same with me.

  • I live just South of the damage areas in the southeastern part of Coon Rapids, at the time of the storms I lived kina between Northtown and the Coon Rapids Dam.

  • greenday!!

  • I lived in Roseville for 30 years. I was 6 years old when the June 14, 1981 tornado hit Har Mar Mall and Target at the intersection of Snelling Ave and Hwy 36. I lived 4 blocks from the SD-10 located just north of Co Rd. C on Western Ave. I wonder if that siren is still there - I can still hear it today and the chills I felt as the sky turned green on that hot, humid Sunday afternoon.

  • No actually there aren't any T-135s to speak of there. More like a P-15.

  • this makes my ears pop

  • You have T-128's there? They're beginning to put FS 2001's here in Minneapolis, but we still have lots of Thunderbolts.

  • Roseville, MN is starting to replace their sirens with FS2001's although I don't live there, I saw two of them as I was taking a trip to Rosedale, From what I read on their website, thay have a long way to go, they're only replaceing one per year and only 4 out of their 13 are replaced. I am In Coon Rapids, two older sirens were gonna get replaced in 2007 but the city budget had to be revamped, they're budgeting to replace one older siren in 2008.

  • Where exactly in roseville are the sirens I know the one on hamline and b-2 was replaced and one was put up on cleveland and c-2.I know they have some old ones there.

  • I saw the one at Cleveland Ave and C2, I also seen the one at Cleveland and B2, I have not seen the other one, I only read about it on Roseville's web site, I beleive I read there's one in the Woodhill Drive area?

The rest are the older ones, I saw two out of the four new ones as I was taking a bus trip to Rosedale.

I wonder when Saint Paul will get in the game and replace their sirens? the only newest one I saw was a thunderbeam along University Ave near the Midway area.

  • The thunderbeam I've for at a couple of years. They have a couple of sth 10's and the rest that I have seen are the thuderbolts.I guess they will be replaced soon.

  • Yup! The Thunderbolts are mostly I saw when I visted St. Paul as well as Minneapolis has the thunderbolts but they're also replacing theirs with the Federal Signal's as another person comented. There is one on Waashington Ave near the metro dome area. I don't think I would want an apartment there, that siren is like just outside a persons deck.

  • I wouldn't either

  • I was recently in Roseville, I think I noticed another new one on County Road B and Lexington or Hamline? I know the one on County B east of Snelling has not been replaced yet. So I think I saw four new ones. Clevland and C-2 and down the road at B-2, B-2 and Hamline? and County B.

One siren over here in Coon Rapids was replaced and they'll probaly replace the other three old ones if their budget allows, I believe the other nine have alredy been replaced in recent years.

  • those sirens will get your attention

  • So would the Federal 2001's, especialy when you least expect it, like the time I was watching a DVD a few years ago on a Sunday afternoon, it was a nice sunny day, all of a sudden........ The sirens in Coon Rapids, MN were activated

  • I love the sound of T-128's

  • Allah Snackbar!

  • Andover has all ASC T-128s. I saw pictures of them somewhere.

  • I don't live in Andover myself, However I am in the suburb just to the south-Coon Rapids witch borders Andover, I know by going through Andover a few times before that they've replaced their sirens not to long ago with ASC T128s. Andover has 12 sirens withen the city aswell as Coon Rapids has 12, one of those I beleive is a ASC T 128, I saw it one time has I was crusing on my bike in Coon Rapids.

  • What kind of sirens you have here in Andover Minn

  • sounds like T-128's..

  • nice video
