nice quad. 87 was the fastest year. the bastard year in which no parts interchange with it from the other years. the 88 to 92 kept upgrading the suspension and frame. also not to mention the 87 was the first 6 gear power valved motor;) i have the 86. great quad in deed. i also have the 87 which is a bit better in the motor department but not by much. a little more aggressive. the lt250 just got better each year with the exception of 87 still being the fastest. for those who don't know. nice quad

I just picked up a 1986 LT250r in decent shape and modded up and down, I love it, Never owned a quad so damn fast and powerful. snow covered roads are the best thing ever with it.

had a 1986 when I was 13-15 yrs old. Came with a twist throttle. Never broke my wrist and gave that bike hell! I'm 31, bought a 1985. love these bikes, havn't installed the twist but its in the garage waiting. The 1985, is super clean, came with original tires, bright blue seat, set of paddles on ITP rims, extra front tires in ITP rims, extra set of plastics, Title, owners manual. All for the bargain price of 12 crispy hundred dollar bills.

I want to say Suzuki rated top speed @ 73 Mph.

@2fast4u450 THERE ARE 4 BOLTS ON THE REAR SWINGARM CLAMP. LOOSEN ALL FOUR AND ROTATE THE BEARING CARRIER A DIRECTION TO TIGHTEN THE CHAIN UNTIL CORRECT AMOUNT OF FREE PLAY AT CENTER OF CHAIN THEN RETIGHTEN THE FOUR CLAMP BOLTS HOLDING THE BEARING CARRIER.

@DatMasta96 YOU WILL HAVE LOTS OF FUN ON THAT QRACER. THEY ARE REALLY FUN QUADS. KEEP THINGS CLEAN AND WELL LUBED AND IT WILL RUN FOREVER. MINE IS A 90 LT250R AND IT GETS RIDDEN EVERY WEEKEND AT LEAST A LITTLE. ONLY THING DONE TO IT WAS NEW PISTON AND RINGS ONE TIME. USE THE SUZUKI 2 STROKE OIL FOR THE FUEL/OIL MIX, IT WAS MADE JUST FOR THEM. U CAN USE OTHER OILS LIKE BELRAY,BUT THEY DONT PTOTECT AS WELL FOR DAILY RIDING. SUZUKI BUILT IT AND THEY KNOW WHATS BEST FOR IT. HAVE FUN.

Called "All Seasons" i dont like them for repairing though,way over priced and dont do a good job... and woah only 1 rebuild on the pistons? nicee... you should make a video of it if you still have it.

Nothing wrong with a twist throttle, I put a twist on my 86 quad-racer 250. Try riding a 4 wheeler in the snow with a stiff thumb throttle and tell me you dont like a twist throttle. Looks like your missing the shroud that goes over the radiator though. Did you take it off for the headlight guard? A great bike though, best year made. Watch out though, it will kick your ass if you dont respect it.

man i dont need to. all i know is that i go to the dunes with my banshee, and woop every quadzilla that lines up to me. a few have beat me i admit, but i still beat the majority of them. stock for stock the quadzilla is faster, but when they become modded out, the banshee will kill that thing in horsepower because of all the things you can do to a banshee.
