  • At first I thought it was fiberglass.

  • @patu8010 the whole front and the sides are both made from fiberglass. i used an open face moped helmet to build on but my new ones are completely fiberglass for a more lightweight and strong product. this was just a prototype.

  • what did you use to carve the lines in?

  • @cr1tterp0wer a set of wood carving tools that i found at my job.

  • @isanchez20 awesome, i was afraid i would need a dremel to carve out detail in my future ODST helm, but wood carving tools! THATS A GREAT IDEA

    Thx

  • @cr1tterp0wer i tried it with my dremel but its too fast, you could make a mistake in the blink of an eye. you have to have a very steady hand to use a dremel.

  • can i have 1 plzz

  • that helmet is F'ing beautiful, sir

  • stick with which the helmet visor

  • o so so epic, can you make a metroid??

  • @ShadowRocks25 idk, i never thought about making a metroid. maybe.

  • DONDE SE CONSIGE LA RESINA Y LAS LIJAS DE BONDO

  • @MyGoku1997 yo la compre en una tienda que se llama ace hardware. pero se vende en varias tiendas.

  • oh my god!!!

i just hope soooo much to make one!!

    but it seems very hard...

well can you explain to me?

    i dont get some progress..

  • that make the ears with cotton or, where I get fiberglass and hoses to the fact that the viewer, as did the cardboard

  • @MyGoku1997 no entiendo a tus preguntas, preguntame en español si quieres.

  • say as they prepare the cardboard for the hull and so I stuck with silicon? cosigo else where fiberglass and hoses, that are made of the Hose zonasdonde algodon.porfavor will respond soo thanks

  • How much did all this cost?

  • @aarokid not much because at the time i was dating a girl that worked at a hardware store so i got everything at cheap prices. plan on building one?

  • @isanchez20 yeah, eventually haha

  • @aarokid glad to hear it. if you dont mind, share some photos or videos of your work whenever you decide to do it.

  • i have seen this but did you use bondo for the placing the tubes in the helment?

  • @ImPrettyDammit when i was doing the fiberglass i placed pvc tubes covered in aluminum foil to make the slots for the tubes. then when it hardened i removed the tubes and it left a perfect space for my rubber hoses to go in after i painted it. 2:38

  • would it be possible to make a tutorial i mean for those people including myself that want to make one but just dont understand how to

  • @luigi112344 i really didnt know either until i made this helmet. it was my first attempt at anything like this. i just looked up videos on fiberglass and body filler work on youtube and got creative with it. but i plan on makin the blaster soon and i will definetly go into alot more detail on how to make it when i do. i'll also make sure and take alot more video footage of all the steps.

  • Awesome! I love it! It looks soo good

  • Psh if i can find a suit lol im going as Samus. I dont care if its a girl. thats one badass girl :D

  • Is there any way you could possibly post up a step by step tutorial? :3 In writing or in video? That would be AMAZING. I'd love to see what you guys can do with the full body armor...that'd just be epic. ^^

  • If you guys give me the completet Varia Suit, I'll pay you OVER NINE THOUSAND $!!!!!!!

  • How did you fixed the cardboard to the helmet?

  • do you mean the skeleton i made or the big one that eventually gets replaced by the visor? i fixed the small skeleton pieces in place by using hot glue. and the big one was just wedge between the helmet and the interior cotton pieces of the helmet. they were just put there so i had somthing to rest the fiberglass material on while it dried.

  • Freakin dope! Looks really nice, great job man!

  • Great video! That helmet is fantastic! It looks so real! All you need now, is a Samus-suit, and then it'll be complete (if you're planning to make one, that is). I wish I had skills to do that. Great work!

  • you know samus is a girl, right?

  • Everyone knows that, but he doesn't have to be a girl to be a Metroid-fan. Besides, who many people would have such skills and talent to make such an awesome helmet? :oD

  • I know that, I'm not saying that it's bad. That's by far the best samus helmet replica I've ever seen!

  • I agree. I've never seen anything like it either. With skills like that, those guys could make their own Metroid movie.

  • @TheMorningshadows if you give me a varia suit I'll put it on and go to the first convention I can, I don't care if Samus is a girl that helmet is awesome

  • amazing job guys! dayum

  • lol @ winobot tag, it did sort of remind me of him before you got around to sanding it.

  • imagine if you made a body!

  • one of the best I've seen. I'm thinking of making one for my friend's movie, but since I'm lazy I'm just going to use Styrofoam and my Styrofoam carver.

  • i will have to drop my bid, i just came across some financial troubles and i need the money to pay my mortgage...sorry

  • dude thats freaking kool

  • you should try to make the arm cannon

if it counts, i offer you $700 for a replica, $5000 for the original, but i wouldnt sell the original, its your relic

  • sold to megabobu!!!!!

  • This might be an odd question, but what did you do to learn how to make it? Just practicing with other stuff? Nice work, too. It looks amazing.

  • no, this was actually my first attempt at any fiberglass or bodyfiller work.

  • fantastic man!!

  • NICE! May I make a suggestion? Add in the HUD on the inside of the helmet :) Would be a cool touch ^^

Great job btw! Keep it up :)

  • yea do it.

  • make me an offer i cant refuse, for the original or for a replica

  • pics please!!!! or a video would b good 2 :)

  • how much dd it cost to make this?

  • wow

    looks like too professional

    congratulations

i will try to make some one like that

    great video

  • So how much would one of these cost?

    Throw an estimate out there

  • I'll buy a replica...... just suggest a price a we can make a deal...... Thats a freakin' awesome helmet too.....

  • GREAT WORK.

Those carved lines really add a sense of realism.

Hope you wear a respirator when sanding, that dust is really bad for your lungs.

You should sell castings of this helmet. It is really easy to make a silicone mold and make copies.

    CHEERS!

  • Can you send me any links to videos on making molds because I've never actually made a mold. That way I can make some replicas :)

  • Oh my....I'd kill to have a Samus helmet :'D If only I had skills in making objects like that.

How much would you offer a helmet like that :O?

  • make an offer and i can probly make you a replica, unless you offer enough then i could give you the original :)

  • Simply amazing craftwork! The late Gunpei Yokoi would've been proud had he'd seen this ^_^

  • so wat inspired you to do this?

  • my passion and love for samus aran of course

  • okay so when you made the helmet what was under the visor? also what did you use to make the round parts on the helmet?

  • i put the visor in at the end, i used a piece of cardboard wrapped in aluminum foil the whole time that i was fiberglassing and doing the bondo. when i was done i just slid the cardboard out and threw away the aluminum. then slide the visor in the gap left by the cardboard. the round side are just expanding foam cut into shape then fiberglass with bondo to tweak to look identical.

  • 0:45 (expanding foam cut into shape)

  • how did you make the little part in the visor near mouth?

  • if you would sell it how much will it be? :P

  • idk, offer :)

  • make the whole suit then it would be awsome

  • you making all of the armor? that'd be bad ass

  • Great job! I bet when it was finished you were proud. Gonna subscribe to see you create the arm cannon, Good Luck!

  • hey can u post all the stuff u will need and also when u do the arm cannon it would be cool if you were to put a light in it!

  • Much better lighting! The sun even shined off the visor too giving it a nice effect. You treated alot of those shots like you were trying to show off a brand new car, go nuts with showing off the detailed work since thats what its all about really.

  • awsome fam lol my Evo in da back hahahaha samus space ship! im working on the suit as i text a comment lmao!!!!!

  • coolest shit i have EVER SEEN

  • awesome man. that looks totally legit

    arm cannon next?

  • Yup, Thats exactly what i wanted to do next

  • nice! good stuff!

  • Lol at the pic at 4:46! What a fag!
