hey, w0ah....beautiful design on this watch, truly unique. As a CG artist i used to work on animation, 3d, blah blah, so i also enjoyed the video /animation itself;-)...
i see below u've listed the team--"I-reel.fr ,,, and Music : Glimpse Lab?" well if so,
I don't know if I buy that watch one day or, the Harry Winston Opus XI or, the Montblanc Metamorphosis... the 3 best looking watches all the time.. PERIOD.
try tokyoflash japan! Is actually quite the opposite as they sell LED watches and not mechanical but they're not too expensive, very extraordinary and good quality... Cheers!
Liked! wonderful concept, even beter 3-D animation. But I think that my shitty mobile (with no camera, internet and mp3 player) serves pretty well telling time. Not spending $90,000 for this masterpiece of precise mechanics in the nearest future:]
There are only three people that make up Urwerk- the Baumgartner brothers, watchmakers and engineers; and Martin Frei, the designer. The Baumgartner brothers are responsible for all contract manufacturing of parts and assembly of the final timepieces. Because only these two people are responsible, only ten or so watches are made every year.
@douro20 The are actually around 12 people now working for URWERK and Thomas Baumgartner left the company over 6 years ago. URWERK now produces around 100 timepieces per year.
This is a fantastic example of absurd and terrible design aimed at rich people. The normal movement of the watch obscures dials in the watch, greatly limiting its usability. That's on top of the silly and non-standard way of telling time with it. Also, it needs oil changes. I guess you should take watches in for a servicing occasionally, but my grandfather's father's pocket watch is still running today, and it's never needed an "oil change", or any servicing aside from a crystal replacement.
It´s about what can be done, it´s about doing some esquisite design above the usual. Nowdays u can know the time looking your cellphone. So the point is to make a jewellery. If u dont understand, u can always buy a casio, that don´t need to change oil.
So my options are purchasing a hideous and overpriced monstrosity that vaguely resembles a watch, except having no useful way to tell time, like the watch in the video, or to own a Casio, eh?
I guess I'll have to throw away this rather nice skeleton automatic I have on my wrist right now. It's a pity, since it looks far better than the horrible watch-thing in the video, is easy to tell the time on, cost me a fraction of the price (around $500), and will never need an oil change.
@krooner I like that your response to me not liking some watch that you like is to put on a smug attitude and tell me I should go buy a Casio if I don't watch to change the oil in my watch, too. You say it as if the only nice watches in the world are ones that are this ugly, this expensive, and require oil changes, when it fact that isn't true of most nice watches. I would further suggest that this isn't a nice watch at all, and just something absurd aimed at people with more money than sense.
These mechanics concepts must be the result of extreem out of the box thinking or.........there is some captured alien being tortured for answers and ideas.
Finally a watch without a Tourbillion that baffles the mind and is sexy as hell. Imagine what would happen if the "ALL SPARK" gets its hands on this! No but really they should have at least hidden a Tourbillion on the bottom next next to the 3rd turbine.
Another great watch from Urwerk, totally new design but same concept with the rotating satelites, I would say that is the pinical of Urwerk DNA. Really like it, great great job.
Absolutely fantastic. The music selection is fittingly sinister and mechanical, and it suits the advertisement perfectly. I want that song. And that watch.

Anyone that comments about not being able to tell time from this amazing creation doesn't deserve to own a watch.
Seriously, if you can't read the time on this, you can't read time on a cheap digital watch either. It's laid out right in front of you for god sake.
