  • 38 yrs later I am a Greg Lake Fan. Phenomenal voice with a great sound engineer no doubt.

  • What a great sound. I have to agree that the sound guys did a fantastic job, but they had a lot of talent to work with. The guy was better than I remembered.

  • indeed . John Lennon was the pioneer of chewing gum and singing .

    Coolest guy ever !

I bet jagger tried it but couldnt do both at the same time

  • chewing while singing.. as for many things, Beatles came first. watch?v=r4p8qxGbpOk

  • All the seeds of his later disintigration are here in embryo (like one of those computer projections of thirty years on). But likewise - so is his casual 'off the cuff' genius.

  • Juicy Fruit reaches the notes other gums can't reach! Fabulous vocal tone :)

  • manager: Greg, you shouldn't chew gum while singing, you could cho-

Greg Lake: Bitch, I don't take orders from anyone.

  • This download is even better than the one that has more hits. Thanks!

  • If only we could back in time.

  • I was going by the other versions, and this is the best one. Even better than the very latest ones. The tune of his voice is closer, real to the one of the record. He got very fat in the end.

  • Simply STELLAR!!!

  • I was at the California Jam that day. ELP closed the show, and I still remember Keith Emerson's piano rising and spinning as he played it, 20 feet above the stage. What a show!

  • Beautiful song and rather amazing to think that Greg wrote the lyrics as a poem when he was only 12! ELP were always one of my favorite bands, nobody sounded like them and their performances were always stellar but what set them apart were the lyrics! They were the bleeding edge and had so many unique songs and were not afraid to try things that had never been done in Rock music and it was a roaring success! I still listen to ELP regularly and find them as solid as ever. Wonderful band and music

  • Yes Greg Lake was phenomenaly talented. He had star quality, along with that beautiful, handsome voice. But without a good sound engineer, especially live, you are scr-w-d. A good sound engineer can make, or break you. Beautifully done, my hat is off to the sound engineers !! They put the echo on the word WAS. Well done. Nice job on all of it. Good sound.

  • @hairball1726 , uh, yeah, I guess, but this guy was hot!

  • @rmtmiller You got that right saying Greg Lake was hot ;) Ha! I just wanted to give the sound engineers some credit ! Hey, I like looking at the 'racecar' video here on YT where Greg drives #11 car. You've seen that one right? Greg is as good looking, if not more, than Jim Morrison. And Carl Palmer was also hot in that short shag haircut. Keith Emerson always looked "foppish" to me.But that was the style then in the 60's. In the 60's and 70's men were better looking than now.

  • @hairball1726 well then they should have placed the guitar mike better so as not to pick up so much pick noise...

  • Awesome tune and amazing to be able to sing and chew gum at the same time ;-)

  • @clditmer1

Dave Grohl does that always :)

  • @clditmer1 OK -- the gum chewing while singing and playing guitar cracked me up!!!! Fabulous!!!

  • @clditmer1 davvero assurdo !!!....

  • The gum chewing was to keep his mouth from drying out. Jimi Hendrix occasionally chewed gum on stage.

  • Great song.......amazing sound on this video! Thanks Allen! : )

  • Great sound and video! The gum-chewing is hilarious!
