  • BEAUTIFUL MAN, BEAUTIFUL VOICE, BEAUTIFUL MESSAGE, AND BEAUTIFUL MUSIC.

    Bruddah IZ for life!

  • He had such a beautiful voice.

  • I miss Hawaii.

  • This is such a beautiful song! Being Hawaiian myself, it makes me want to learn more about my culture and the language. I think Hawaii was annexed wrong and what happened was unjust, however, despite the negative, there's a lot of good today. We can't change the past, but we can embrace the future and make the best of where we're at. Change is inevitable, if Hawaii's people can only adapt to change, we can become a great people! Bitterness for our past cripples us to becoming great.

  • BJ PENN

  • Braddahh IZ Was My Inpiration R.I.P CHEEHHOO!! Aloha Wau Ia Oe Nikaazxx Hawaiian All Da Way But Polinesian Micronesian Melanesian Are All One Nation But Braddah IZ Knew How Uss Islanders Feel LIKE IF YOU AGREE LONG LIVE PACIFICA !!

  • That's not a ukelele, it's a normal guitar...just that he's really big

  • @calum270694 probably just a tenor

  • @calum270694

Sorry mate, but that is a ukulele

  • love his intro!!!!

    1 race..the human!!!!!

  • Voice of an Angel, Heart of a God, Courage of a True Human

  • On race Brah. For those spreading hate, life is a circle, where you begin is where you will end. Just saying baby. Peace and Love

  • God, what a beautiful man!

  • And for us Hao'les ....RESPECT our Aina....

  • If they saw Hawaii now, they'd be happy to see that the place is so loved by everyone, and that civilization grew and flourished on the small island. Awesome Aloha cuz

  • @MoonBHAA civilization grew indeed...unfortunately hawaii also grew into the crystal meth capitol of the world. a simple result of westerner domination...really sad...

  • @ordaboy it's human beings in general. :(

  • i wish i heard him sing this song live

  • BJ PENN IS GOD!

  • This song is a lament about the lost land of my forefathers, the native hawaiians, the kanaka maoli.

  • great message, year and place, hayn, have pride and represent ur people well

  • To all the people spreading hate here, shame. Bruddah IZ and his music spread love. Do you hear his words at the beginning of this video, "No matter what color, one race, the human". Why spread hatred against colored or white people? History has been very unjust to many nations, but to continue to condone hatred by saying a place should be "purified" (Hawaiian only, White only, Black only, etc.) is to continue to spread what you say you are against. Spread aloha if that is what you believe in.

  • WOW.This man "is" (not was) "special" and we could learn much of how to live from his gift that he shared with us.

  • Очень красиво, браво.

  • i wish i was black =(

  • @crazydang101 why???

  • @menehune58 cause every event in white history is sad sorry but im so lame im so sad this song makes me so happy

  • @crazydang101 being black wont fix anything.. and being white doesnt make you a bad person. and this song is about hawaii...not black people

  • @menehune58 i know sorry i wish i was somethign unique thats all

  • @crazydang101 well I'm black and Im from hawaii but that doesn't make me anything special, me being me makes me who I am. So what if your white, make something of it then.its 2011 its not about race anymore, its about what you do with yourself that makes you you. If all that makes sense.

  • @menehune58 like iz said just said there is no black white none of it only people race should not even be a issue in this

  • Kanaka Maoli, we still have a chance! we need to rise up from oppression and take back what is ours. Our Ali'i, our chiefs are still alive and support Hawaiian Independence!

  • Give Hawaii back to the natives !

  • CRY FOR THE LAND, CRY FOR THE PEOPLE!

Hawai'i was overthrown by the US government. If our kupuna and Hawaiian Monarchy were to come back today what would they think of Hawai'i?

  • I am a white guy and I don't agree with what happened to your culture and your people, and I am sorry for what has happened. Unfortunetly nothing can be done about what has happend but we can move forward and become closer as one nation and one world.

  • Okay, maybe things could have been better, but they could have been a lot worse. America is probably the best country to usurped by. You think things would be better if China took over Hawaii?

  • luv this song..very touching!:') bruddah iz u da bomb...this song is so true!:)...hawaii has changed, very commercialized i remember how my mom used to tell me that when she was just a little girl the water at kawaihai would be very clear and would go all the way up to the highway, but because its modernized and the harbor was built the water is shallow and muddy looking :(..even at the pier there used to be a cattle gaurd, and the water would go straight up to the hotel......

  • cry for the gods, cry for the people, cry for the land that was taken away.

  • 28 people eat shit. Absolutely, fuck you.

  • @tiltomatic1 - and you think that this is the way that IZ would have responded to a dislike? If someone's words are hurtful, quietly mark it thumbs down - it will be suppressed. But a dislike is only an opinion and everyone is entitled to one. When IZ sings solo there is nothing better, but as the backup band grows to an orchestra, I loose interest. But you can't fight hate with hate.

  • I miss my spirit-sister, Creike. This makes me weep for her

  • Hawaii was needed for a ground base for the US military during the world of wars II. Germany was giving hell and then Japan did the same. The whole Pacific Fleet was in Hawaii on that dya in December. In honestly, If it werent for the US present in Hawaii.. Maybe Japan would have succeded to the mainland..

  • My grandmother Paukoa loved this song..

  • Pahukoa Morse RIP..

  • Not to be mean but... everytime time I visit Hawaii, I always forget that Hawaii is a state of U.S. because the culture is so different. Sometimes I think that Hawaii is just another country.

  • @lavamaster530 Im couldnt agree with you more!!! Its a whole diffrent vibe over here than the mainland!!

  • For all the young hawaien people : Don't forget your culture, your language and your Island. your island, and your language are very beautiful! don't destroy it ! save it ! it's very important !!

  • @SSS5SS5 forget this culture bullshit, we are moving towards something much bigger. Our conversation is a testament to that. Sitting in different parts of the world listening to israel.

  • @SSS5SS5 i didn't invade anyone. I represent noone. Im not white. Those ppl that invaded are from another time, they are not us. Live in today, in peace and brotherhood.

  • Too everyone who is posting...why? We post because we need to share our thoughts, to mark our place...To the negative posters, if you would use your heart and be true to yourself, you would not even post such things, I am sorry for your sadness and maybe if you really listen to what bruddah IZ is saying, you can learn...To the positive posters, you are doing this to spread love and aloha. Positive gets positive...Iz has changed many of our lives through his amazing voice, mahalo nui loa for IZ

  • 28 people are stone cold fucking assholes.

  • This song always gives me chicken skin...Braddah Iz - No Ka Oi!

  • Wow what a great voice!!!!!!Rest in Peace brother, we will sing together someday!

  • Thanks for the correction - I feel way better knowing all is not lost to these people!

  • Lol, Maroon! I am teal and Maroon colored.. plus orange. :D

  • IZ was a gret artist, a good man and I love his music, ...I am white, American and proud of it as all people should be of their own race.

  • What can anyone even say?

  • Please God if there is such a thing as reincarnation let me come back Hawaiian.

  • you can't be human if you dislike this

  • omg is it normal for me to love this music at age 14 and love this guy

  • There still are 100% pure Hawaiians left but many are passing away with time so I estimate that there are less than 1000. Each generation becomes mixed as from marriage, so for example my mom is Hawaiian but she also has Chinese, German, Portguese and some other ethnicities, so with being made up of Hawaiian and other ethnicities I'm considered Hapa. There is more information if you search the web, there is something called Kau Inoa you should check out. I hoped this helped emptybank1.

  • @wadenala While I think that it's beautiful that there are people of so many different ethnic backgrounds, through love and all that, it's also so incredibly saddening seeing that there are not very much full Native Hawaiians left... if this makes sense?

  • @wadenala

    Thank you!

  • Just a note- James Michener, historical writer, wrote the novel Hawaii. I read it several times and if his research is true, all the original natives of the islands were killed off when the white missionaries brought disease, to which the natives had no resistance. (Specifically measles) So very sad. The hawaiians are decendents of the chinese people who were brought to build up the plantations, etc. If I'm wrong, please correct me. Thanks and god bless IZ's gentle soul.

  • @emptybank1 I'm sorry, what? There are 100% Hawaiians still, as someone mentioned and Hawaiians now are not Chinese descendants. Many were killed off when the missionaries and everybody else whom was foreign brought diseases to the islands. There are many mixed people, if that is what you are wondering but there are still Kanaka Maoli around... just not much and plenty of mixed kids.

  • @andagii gotchu bruh and dont worry we still trynna keep the culture around its just hard with the influences...

  • @emptybank1 You are wrong, while many died, they weren't ALL killed off.

  • @emptybank1 nah bro research wrong... you can read all you want but get out the house and go take a mission up and ask around the locals arent chinese we jst have chinese brudduhs we all still local at heart and theres plenty of straight bloods around... big families especially brudduh

  • i hate being white and american, my people have destroyed the world

  • I'm torn with this. I'm white, american, but also Native American. I think us as europeans and colonists coming and taking 90% of the Indians land, then sticking them in "zones" that they can use, it's sick how we get. The Alaskans at least get to keep their land with no invading, kicking them out, telling them where they can live. I still think Hawaiians though are pround to say their from the United States. Any of it is sick when races have to be divided.

  • @doobiedax We're not from the United States, most (including me) don't consider ourselves American. I am Hawaiian first and foremost, born, raised, and will die Hawaiian, government can take my land, my name and my way of life, but they can never take that away from.

  • @808Productionz I understand man. I'm not Hawaiian, but I will consider you a fellow american, from a brotherhood point of view. Did you know IZ? I would like to know more about him. He seemed like he was a beautiful person.

  • 26 people have no aloha and no ears.

  • 26 people can suck it

  • 26 people can lick my ass!!!!

  • @devs1997 don't worry about those degenerates, how about the 1,820 awesome people that share the same love of music that we find great.

  • what are he singing in the first verse?

  • @devs1997 The life of the land is perpetuated in righteousness.

  • 26 people can kiss my ass

  • Brother IZ, thank you for teaching us. We love you, thank you for loving us. A true Hawaiian Spirit. RIP.

  • Great man, great voice, great music, great message. Love ya bruddah RIP

  • hbuawbain superman bulaia(?) HELP

  • RIP Bruddah Iz and thank you for everything . . . Mahalo.

  • Life races by these days. You try to keep up with it, but one day life passes you by and you feel lost in a world you once knew so well.

  • @oldschoolchicas You are an idiot...

  • Yes he was a big man, but with an even bigger heart . Unlike that shriveled up prune of a heart you seem to have.

  • I LOVE BEING A HAWAIIAN

  • @oldschoolchicas

How about you stop disrespecting IZ.

  • @KlanMan800 You may not realise it, but it was only a joke. I know people have different tastes in music

  • @CaptainHollister

its a patriotic song. you're saying your taste in music is stuff like the 'star spangled banner'. do you really cruise to that song? Hawaiians listen to this song more recreationally(their own leisure) because they more pariotic to their kingdom than you are yours, plus it sounds better and has some actual soul in it. oooo say can you seeeeEEE lmfao

  • @dub6pimp I'm not American, or Hawaiian. (I am in fact British). If anyone is offended by my previous comment then I apologise - I did not mean to offend :)

  • A beautiful song sung by a man who was beautiful all the way through. Hawai'i is such a beautiful place with so much history and a wonderful culture. I would love to go there....

  • i love this human being

  • this song is for all the hawaiians and what happened

  • CANT HELP COMING BACK TO LISTEN TO IZ AGAIN. LOVE HIS SINGING. EVEN IN HIS LANGUAGE, THAT I DONT UNDERSTAND. I LISTEN TO THIS SONG 3 TIMES IN A ROW. NICE MELLOW VOICE.

  • He sings about how most Hawaiians feel about their land lost, stolen. The U.S. went to war with Germany, Japan, Italy, Korea, Vietnam, Iraq, and now in Libya. Yet all those people were allowed to keep their country and their autonomy, the people should decide on their country and destiny, not influence by other countries. The U.S. won't even recognize Hawaiians as an indigenous people, with rights like Alaskans and Native Americans. Hawaiians should have voted on their own country, no one else.

  • @hankakah , I totally agree with you, Not sure if you will ever see this, but I love what IZ, and all of the native Hawaiians feel.

You are right, you should have the same rights.

If everybody is equal, that should mean that all Natives are equal.

Some one should start a petition, for Native Hawaiian rights.

I wish the world was the way it should be, and not the way the people with the power want it.

I think the whole world would be a better place.

And IZ knew how to Change the world!

  • @hankakah The idea of countries is ridiculous, Israel was about equality, his music was about peace and love. His music did not promote being part of a "team" and seperating yourself from other human beings. Aloha, Cuz.

  • @MoonBHAA Go watch his video E Ala E. Tell me his message isn't about something that he feels strongly about. We are not talking about separating from other human beings, but just given our culture, lands, heritage back so that we are what we were, Hawaiian. Every country I mentioned above has their own unique culture, does that make them separating from other human beings? The difference is, those countries decide their fate, Hawaiians fate is decided by non-hawaiians. We are not yours to keep

  • @hankakah I love you bhaa, noone is anyones to keep but it's 2011 and Hawaii is amazing. It's time to let these old grudges go :)

  • @MoonBHAA To let these grudges go, would be to forget our culture, our heritage, our ancestors that went before us. IZ defended our plight most of his life. Another example, youtube search for Living in a Sovereign Land. It's well known that he was the spokesman for what ails our people. We are a people going extinct, losing pure Hawaiians every year, never to be replaced. To Allow this to happen would be a travesty, and injustice. Hawaiians should not be raised anything else but Hawaiian first.

  • @hankakah haha what? It's 2011 kid, we are moving towards something much bigger than cultures and heritages. Those things are a great way to keep people divided. We're moving towards unity and the way to have that is to integrate, son. haha If I was you, I'd smoke some weed and look under a microscope to understand how insane this life is.

  • @MoonBHAA go suck joe rogans dick then...u knw what im talkin about

  • @JETSTA916 To quote Joe Rogan, "Smoke weed and look under a microscope."

  • @JETSTA916 yup exactly

  • @MoonBHAA Go smoke more weed as it's already impaired your thinking. If you think that a countries heritage, language and culture are meaningless in your future plans, what makes you think the Chinese wouldn't just keep the British in Hong Kong? Why wouldn't the Vietnamese, Libyans keep the French? Why didn't the U.S. keep the British? If we were all moving towards something globular, why are we still on two sides of Israel/Palestine? Pakistan/India? You have no idea how important heritage is.

  • @hankakah Because all those people are idiots and nationalist douchebags that don't see the big picture, only their little worlds and "own people"

  • @MoonBHAA go look up E'A by Sudden Rush and listen to what they have to say

  • @sanoe808state The paradise is being shared with everyone now. Now, everyone can experience paradise in Hawaii. Isn't that a great thing? haha

  • @MoonBHAA Yea but if the choice was OURS(us hawaiians) then paradise wouldn't be shared with strangers. It would only be shared amongst us HAWAIIANS. Remember our land was not given to the U.S but it was STOLEN by the U.S. from our QUEEN. hahahah fricken thieves.

  • @sanoe808state Noone has stamp over land, kid. That is a selfish thought. This world is yours and mine and everyone has the right to share and enjoy its beauty. Grow up. There is only humans, everything else is fucking nonsense.

  • @hankakah FREE THE HAWAIIAN ISLAND AND ITS SACRED LANDS FOR THE SAKE OF ITS PEOPLE. MAHALO SISTA

  • IZ felt strongly about the ills that plague his people, his native land. Missionary families under the guise of trying to save all Hawaiians spiritually, eventually became the big 5 families to own land in Hawaii. When Queen Liliu'okalani decided to change the constitution that her brother was forced to sign, these foreigners overthrew the Queen, forced her to abdicate her throne. Hawaiians were against it but couldn't vote, they didn't own land, one of the requirements. Watch Princess Kai'ulani

  • I love this song! It is so sad! Rest in Peace Brother IZ!!! :(

  • chicken skin, everytime.

  • 25 people disliked this - I hope you all get a nasty skin disease for that, one which will never go away

Great video, thanks for posting :)

  • @CaptainHollister yes because people who don't like the same things as you deserve to catch chronic diseases

  • @CaptainHollister Go kill yourself.

  • @Thebadguy1987 I take it you disliked it then

  • @CaptainHollister I take it you should get bent

  • the dream lives on I.Z. rest in peace your land will be free again!!and you will be a witness,if not in this life you will see the false empire fall in the next life, the land will return to all of those who deserve it and protect it!!!

  • Iz will live forever in our hearts through his music. Anyone with negative comments simply don't understand. Pity them.

  • it's so sad this gentle soul no longer walks among us anymore. Now he sings with the angels in heaven.

  • FREEDOM FOR HAWAI

WAKE UP BLACKS FROM USA UR HAIWAN BROTHERS NEEDS U

  • @unfukkkmee Sry hit the wrong button, Like

  • @Mreye45 DOWN WITH THE ANGLOSAXONS HAWAII NEEDS FREEDOM

  • My husband aunt and cousins live on the Hawaiian Island, we came to the islands and visit four times. Iz is the heart of Hawaii as Don Ho is the soul...my heart was so sad when they died...Iz brings tears to my eye when he sings he is a gentle soul that will be miss deeply. Since my visit, my entire life is touched by the true love of the people of Hawaii and what they have taught me.

  • @connormnorris WELL YOU NEVER WILL UNDERSTAND THIS GREAT MAN, IT NOT HOW YOU LOOK!OR WHAT SIZE YOU ARE!YOU ARE A YOUNG RESTLESS SOUL!LIFE IS TOO SHORT! SO LISTEN TO THE VOICE AND THE STORY HE HAS TO TELL! BUT YOUR SMALL MIND WILL NEVER UNDERSTAND!SO GROW UP! RESPECT!

  • This is so true! Some people who listened to this song (probably most of the 24 people who disliked this video) dont understand where IZ is coming from. If you think that Waikiki today is real Hawaiian, you're wrong because it is no different than Vegas. If you want real hawaiian you go back to when the king and queen lived. We have none of that today because of all the highways and other things. Its sad that the king work hard to keep Hawai'i and it has come to this. WHAT A GREAT MESSAGE IZ!!!!

  • je t adore iz <3

  • thank you for your beautifull voice and soul, you have deeply touched me in a way when i get to where you are at, i finally get to see you live, till we meet..luv you bro

Hope to come there some day <3

  • @SlyWitch shutup haole

  • @MrStatic808 wth is your problem? I was just giving a general opinion!

If you don't like what I said [ although I honestly have no idea why ] then that's your thing..

Don't tell me to shut up when you don't even know me.

  • @SlyWitch its people like "mrstatic808" that give us a bad name. its not like you were dissing Hawai'i in anyway. people who respect us, and our culture are welcome to visit. please disregard.

I was told he was a legend a folkhero. Whne he passed- it ws if they had buried a president. His music and legend lives on in our hearts and those lucky enough to have heard him
