Okay so this is nothing but the truth: I'm a descendant of Oceanus! Well more like I'm a descendant of her father Stephen Hopkins! My family has been able to trace down all his descendants and it eventually leads to my family's family tree! I have a book about Stephen Hopkins and everything and it's so neat to know that I descended from his family!
This is really interesting. We just always figure that back in the day everyone was named Mary, Elizabeth, James etc. but there were some really cool, unique names back then. I read a My America book with a character named Remember back in middle school, but she was a girl and went by Mem. I find Remember kinda cool for either gender, but I would never ever use it.
@Nine00 Thank you for the great feedback! I agree with you about Remember. I would love to meet someone with that name though, but with the nick name Remy!
I discovered Isannah a few weeks ago and fell in love with it. And I pronounce it the way you do...it sounds strong, yet feminine, and a bit exotic. :-)
Awesome video! Very educational for me. lol. Well I just want you to know my husband and I are bringing the name Gideon back when we have boy one day. We been stuck on that name for more than a year. So now we are just waiting to be blessed with him. lol :)
Samoset could make a cool middle name, Myles is wonderful, Peregrine would be a cool midle name, Rease is super cool, Gideon is awesome, Wythe reminds me of wise and writhe, Mercy would make a cool first name an a great middle name, Keziah is so pretty, Molly is super cute, Abigail would make an awesome middle name.
This was great! I love the colonial girl & background--that is so neat how you do that! The names were very intriguing...where did they come up w/some of those??
I think Jamestown is a little out there, but changing it to Jameston makes it completely usuable. Pilgrim would be a cool middle name. Gideon is cool, as always. Adams is a nice twist on a common name. Revere is another cool middle name. Given could be unisex. I actually like Isannah. And for the longest time Liberty Grace was one of my favorite names, but I don't like any of the potential nicknames.
I like Jamestown, Bradford, Myles, Boone, Hale, Elias Story, Mercy, Molly, Abigail, & Liberty! My great-great-grandfather was named Ely, though he pronounced it like Eli! Great video Alexia!!
@Crazy4Jeter That's so neat about your grandpa!!! I was driving through Massachusetts the other day and saw a sign that said Ely. I got so excited! :)
I think Keziah is actually pronounced KEE-zee-ah (that's how they pronounced the character's name on Little House on the Prairie, hahah). Mercy is really starting to grow on me! Definitely has cool middle name potential. Molly and Abigail are darling.

@ambularofamber Thank you! I created my background in photoshop, which is a program I couldn't live without! The video editing is done in premiere.
I did a lot of research, I read censuses and read articles from historians. You should see the paper I wrote my notes on! lol
