The only "stupid" thing here are all the people who totally miss the ironic humor of this very clever and beautifully crafted video. That is, the contrast between this romantic '50s dream world and the modern perversity hinted at with the riding crop Xmas present. Besides that, the singing and production actually stands up to the original Frank & Nancy duet from 1967.
