its weird that the white people like this kind of music, i dont see latin comments in this song and is a latin music, well somebody say that the music is universal, now i believe it
Cuban great Perez-Prado, outstanding! I grew up in an Irish-American home listening to this and all other types of Cuban music because it reminded my parents of their honeymoon in Havana way back when Cuba was the #1 vacation destination for Americans.
@insaider696 are you kidding me??? the Mambo was invented in Cuba and not by Perez Prado who intenationalized it while living in Mexico (so what, he could've been in the middle of the pacific ocean! for that matter!) but by another Cuban great Israel Cachao López, the Cuban bassist and composer and his brother the pianist and cellist Orestes López. Next time do your research before entering such stupid comments as yours on here!
Mambo never could be as popular and famous without Mexican musicians, Mexican movies and Mexican international proyection. Mambo was borned in Cuba, BUT it was CREATED IN MEXICO. The most famous MAMBO'S pieces in the world were BORNED AND CREATED IN MEXICO BY MEXICANS. Actually PEREZ PRADO died been a Mexican, His tomb stone is in a cementery in Mexico City, and his son and rest of his family are Mexicans and live in Mexico City.
@insaider696 May I inform you that I have a doctorate in Cuban music from NYU, I have stated my point already and it is obvious that you just can not comprehend what I am trying to get across here. I like to discuss topics with people that know.
@insaider696 Your ignorance sickens me, what is it? Does it shock you that someone well educated with complete knowledge of this subject is publicly correcting you on something that you know NOTHING about? Yes I have a doctorate in Cuban music, having stated that bit of information, I urge you to educate yourself before making such a fool of yourself with such ridiculous statements!
YES Don't forget, THIS IS MEXICAN-CUBAN MUSIC. Actually Perez Prado was a Cuban immigrant in Mexico and he made this music with Mexican musicians, so Mambo is famous thanks to Mexican musicians.
@insaider696 I can not believe your comments..."THIS IS MEXICAN-CUBAN MUSIC" ??? You really need to do more research on the mambo, Perez Prado lived in Mexico when he popularized it, but the Mambo originated in Cuba and to be perfectly accurate it was invented by Cachao and his brother (I suggest you read up on the history of the mambo) The next shocking statement from you will be that the Rumba, Cha-Cha-Cha, Son, Bolero etc also originated in Mexico?
