U.S. here. I heard Esser last week and ordered the CD the same day. Although I don't think the genre is 'parakeet pop', Esser is poised to break through the US's rubbish and top 40 crap. The entire 'ensemble' sounds GREAT and come together nicely in their beats and harmonics.The other bands were good, but the music is not 'now' and I do not think they have the marketability and freshness that Esser has to break through here in the US. IMHO of course. GO ESSER! Can't wait 'til you cross the pond!
