@unamericano as a 74 yo student, I am learning something about playing bass. I struggle with arthritis in my hands and have learned a little about how much "fingerr strength" is needed - both hands. Chips playing "string hand only" just blows me away. The strength, agility, and invention to do what he does is amazing.
i was lucky enough to have him teach at an annual summer jazz workshop i attended for the first time this year. probably the best musical experience of my life so far!
