I think many of the critical elements to integrate clinical and financial data were met and I think there is a bright future for MRTAS. Although we do not get to see all the fine details, I would hope there are good forums for both the insurance agencies and the providers to review some details that might have a negative influence and/or impact to what may be awarded for reimbursement versus services provided.
I don't think IBM's MRTAS meets the critical elements to integrate clinical and financial data. While it does attempt to create an integrated view, and allows for data to have consistent interpretation by it's ability to understand HLN7 standards, it doesn't have information available when and where it is needed (no constant link to source data, which means changes in the source data may either be missed or duplicate entry is needed), and security features wasn't even mentioned,
I don't think it's fair for this HIT class assignment to endorse IBM MRTAS over and above free Open Source Medical Data Analytics or other competitor Vendor Branded Medical Data Analytics tools
@ekuolu The HIT class is clearly not endorsing the IBM system over any other. The IBM system is merely presented as an example, and students are asked to evaluate the system to determine if it met critical elements discussed in the module. The assignment asks us to be critical of the system and to form our own opinion and present that opinion.

I agree with the first poster. I mostly see the value here to the health insurance industry.
