they need to advance the use of mechs in space. it will move much better out there. that thing ways tons on earth and theres no powerful enough energy compact or small enough to make it lighter. that thing probably has a truck engine in it. and no nuke, bad enough they use them on submarines and most ships. .they will will be able to better the  technology while in space finding better resources out there i believe.

While I won't argue that mechs are cool as hell, in this day and age, they're pretty much useless. There's nothing a mech can do that a regular treaded tank can't do better. Tanks are faster and can take and dish out more firepower. And they don't tip over.

Right now, for the role that the mech would fulfill, we'd be much better off with human-sized powered exoskeletons.

Ever play armored core? Once mech technology reaches that peak I highly doubt even 30 tanks could take an AC on. Watch armored core for answer intro then come back to me on a tank is better than mech. And yes with the right amount of money and I say 50 years from now that technology will be very possible.

I think this thing could be lighter then it would be faster... and vertical launch missiles would be nice so would a Gatling gun that shoots fast would be better. because the Gatling gun on this guy is slow... and some counter-measures wouldn't hurt. also I think you would need a storage for extra ammunition. maybe a quad? With a quad you can have more load.

wheels get stuck sumtimes, they cant step over rock ledges, they cant step over ditches, yes wheels sometimes have a better advantedge like no tripping, and normal 2 legs on a machine would suck, but a quad mech would be most efficient, pick itself up when it falls, able to stand a bit better

No, firearms shot only one round in the past.  We called them flintlocks which became sidelock percussion, the barrels fouled after about 3 rounds and had to be cleaned before firing again.
