Can you help me, the wire itself that goes into the tv (from the aerial) the wires come lose and come off (looks like a white wire with cooper wire hanging out) but the other end is wired through the house, please if someone knows what im on about help please because I can't watch tv without it :(
I'm so thankful I found this video! I just had a brand new LCD set delivered a couple of days ago& the antena/cable connector came off!Sharp refuses to do anything&my extended store warranty will fix it.Trouble is they won't repair the connector until 2013,when manufacturer's warranty expires.Anyway I'm wondering what youcharge now to repair this?I'd like to hear pricing from an expert before I call for a qoute, don't wanna get hosed you know.
Luckily the maufacturer decided to come stand behind their product. They've set up an appointment to have a tv repair person come out to look&the set at no cost to me.
I appreciate your time&the information. If,heaven forbid,I find myself in this situation again I'll have a ballpark figure of what I should expect to pay.
@GrantPassTvRepairs(correcting my post lol): Thank you very much for the reply.

Oh goodness, This is such a helpful video I've done this several times and never even thought it even could be fixed until recently. I think we threw several TVs out... Recently I got a T.V. out of a dumpster to play video games on that has the same problem. Thanks so much!
One question: Just how standardized are the tuners? Since the digital transition, would it be possible to just replace the O.E.M. analog tuner with a digital tuner entirely, rather than using a converter box?
@csantos9d1 I'm not sure which board your referring to when you mention the mother board in relation to the tuner. Did you mean the circuit board in the tuner it self? If so sometimes they are also repairable but you will need a good magnifying glass.
ya I know it has been a few months since you placed this on Youtube...but how much would this be priced usually...( i live in NY so I don't think u be able to travel...and I have some soldering exp but still new to it..)
I always cut my wick short because one time the long tail of the wick touched the B+ cap and some other places on the board and discharged or should I say poped ,two hours later I had the set going . T chip and HOT ,I have keeped my wick short since then.
trying to work on this exact same tv in this video. how can i unplug the connectors on the digital coax board, which is located above the analog coax board. I need help accessing the Tuner below. I see the clips which hold the board in, but I don't know how to unplug the cables to make it move freely. from there on, i believe i can fix this. Same situation as the video, the lower jack is broken. stopped in radio shack for wire wick braid, all out.Can i use cloth to soak up the molten solder?
I have not doubt you will figure that part out, but I put a link to my video near the end which shows one other gentleman doing this repair. His video is a much higher quality.

@TheDagrice Generally from 35.00 to 45.00 but on a very difficult TV it could run up to 75.00

@Cherrygreensky I don't think you will find any tuners that you can change from analog to digital. It's a very different system.

What if the Antenna Connector Mother Board is visibly broken, what then how do you go about finding the right board?

@Kazefenrir69 It depends on the TV but I generally charge between 35 and 45.

@GrantsPassTVRepairs On some of the LCD TVs they can be much more difficult. If it takes me a couple hours I would charge $75.00
