Hi there! I think your choreography will look & feel better, without putting your hands by your waist. It restricts your movements & it does not look natural. Today, we dance to every genre of music and (Country style)hands on waist does not work with Pop or other genre of music. As a choreographer, you have the power to change that, with your group. Try it! :) Keep on dancing! Amy
